1 Thus the word of Samuel cameto all Israel. Now Israel went outto meet the Philistines in battleand camped beside Ebenezerwhile the Philistines camped inAphek. 2 The Philistines drewup in battle array to meet Israel.When the battle spread, Israelwas defeated before thePhilistines who killed about fourthousand men on the battlefield.

Solution to problem?

Go get the ark!
