MARRIAGE MOMENTS

Jan. 1 is the feast of Mary, the Mother of God. In these days of the "Me Too" movement, regaining respect for women is getting a lot of attention. This is good, but healthy marriages already exhibit this. Husbands, tomorrow honor your wife's unconditional "yes" to love you. The love will be returned to you in time.

OLOL Refugee Aid Support Group Donations Drive

The OLOL Refugee Aid Support Group will have a Catholic Charities truck at our parish to accept donations of household items on behalf of Catholic Charities Refugee Services before and after each mass the weekend of January 5th and 6th. Please consider putting refugees on your Christ-mas list and donating to this effort.

For Men Only A new year is just about to begin and all men of the parish are invited to the "For Men Only" gathering the first Tuesday of each month, except January 2019 which we will NOT have a gathering. Our next gathering will be Tuesday February 5, 2019 in the West Classroom at 7pm. Life has it's ups and downs and it is how we handle these ups and downs that make us Catholic men different. God is calling all of us to help and support each other, our families and our friends in good mes and bad. "For Men Only" is one place where we can come together and learn from each other and learn how to incorporate the church teachings into our daily lives such that we become the person that God is calling us to be. I hope all men of the parish will consider joining with other men from the parish at the "For Men Only" gathering during the up coming year. 2019 Roe Memorial Events

On January 19, North Texas will mark the 46th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's tragic Roe v. Wade decision making abor on available on demand in America. The theme of the 2019 Roe Memorial is “A Post-Roe World: Equal Dignity, Equal Support.”

8:00 a.m. Roe Memorial Rosaries at Dallas abor on facili es: Southwestern, 8616 Greenville Ave, Dallas, and Planned Parenthood, 7989 West Virginia Dr, Dallas

8:30 a.m. Youth for Life Rally (for high school students) at St. Jude Chapel, 1521 Main St, Dallas, TX 75201. Featuring inspiring presenta ons, great music, and Mass! 10:00 a.m. Roe Memorial Mass (bilingual) at Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Avenue, Dallas, celebrated by Bishop Edward Burns (Procession of Roses begins at 9:45 a.m.)

12:30 p.m. North Texas March for Life from Cathedral to rally outside the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse.

Consistent with Internal Revenue Service regulations, all year end gifts must be postmarked by the Post Office with a December 31, 2018 date to be recorded as a gift in 2018.
