Many of you know that I am a ferocious reader. I love reading books about that give insight into God’s Holy Word. But there is no greater book than God’s word itself. The Holy Bi-ble is God’s very spe-cial love letters to you and me. I can think of no better way of spending my time than being im-mersed in these wonderful love letters.
My great prayer is that this series Praying God’s Holy
Word will encourage
you to spend time digging
into God’s word.
and instructions for his children.

Offer praise that the Lord God Almighty that you and I serve is not wishy-washy. He is ever constant and steadfast. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Praise God that your Father in Heaven who is not fickle like you and me. He is reliable and trustworthy.

This week praise God because you have absolutely nothing to fear - no boss, no coworker, no disgruntled family member no situation real or imagined can harm you. You do not need to fear because the Lord is your stronghold. This week pray that you take comfort in this knowledge.

Week FiveTrust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.Proverbs 3:5,7
You may be the smartest person that you know. You may have an alphabet soup of degrees behind your name, but you need not trust on your understanding. Because as smart as you think you are, I promised you that our God in heaven is smarter. Praise God that you have him to rely on for his infinite wisdom. Pray that you rely on God’s wisdom and not your own.

Week SixDo not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.James 1:22
There are people who don't miss a Sunday at church. They are in the pews listening to the word that Pastor Joel preaches. They read their Bible and listen to scriptures on their smart phones. But when it comes to actually doing the things that the word says, they often miss the mark. Don't just listen. Don't just read. Act, Live, Do what the word says. Pray that you take God’s work and make it real in your daily life.

Don't be deceived into believing that you can worship your Michael Kors, your Lexus, your college degrees, or even your spouse and also worship the Lord. You cannot. You cannot serve two masters. Make the Lord the only master in your life. Put Him alone on the throne. Pray that you dethrone anything that has taken the Lord’s place.

Week EightBut the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.Galatians 5:22-23
Do you exhibit the fruits of the spirit? Love Joy, Peace, Patients, Kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control are the character traits that should be exuding from your life if you are in the Lord. Pray you have the fruits of the spirit to bring honor to Christ in your life and to draw non-believers to Him.

I am excited about Praying the word of God because it luminates the way out of darkness. God’s word is our instruction manual for life. If we follow his directives, we will know peace like a river. Pray that you allow God's word to be your light this week and every week.

During this time of year, it can be easy to become so involved in the hustle and bustle of getting prepared for this Holy season. This week, I asked that you take time to pray and praise God for Christ birth as a child. pray that every day we understand what it really meant that the Son of Man would actually come back to the earth as a little innocent baby to grow up and save the world forever.

Week ThirteenFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.Romans 3:23
On occasion we church folk can forget that everyone has sinned and fall short of the glory of God. When we see people behaving in ways that we know dishonor God and that we also disapprove of, we should say “There but for the grace of God go I.” Praise God this week that He has kept you from the pitfalls that those around you face.

Some people may find it arrogant when Christians say that Christ is the only way to be saved. There is no arrogance, only confidence in trusting the word of God. This is God’s truth and we should share it with those we love. We should encourage all of our family and friends to know that there is but one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ

Sometimes we church folk get so busy doing good that we forget that we can never ever be good enough to be worthy of God's grace and love. Praise God and pray that it is not by our words but by God’s grace that we are saved.

Week Eighteen
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the Romans 8:38-39
This world is full of people places and things that have one goal and that is to tear us away from God. Our work, our material things and sometimes even our family works to pull us away from God. But we should praise God this week and every week that that there is nothing on earth that will ever be abel to separate us from God's love.

As the world rages around us, this week let us take great solace in climbing up into the lap of our Father in Heaven. Let us rest in the Lord, knowing that He is protecting us. He is giving us refuge. He is our shelter in this very weary land.
