1.0 INTRODUCTION
M/s. Sri Veeranjaneya Blue Stone Crusher proposes to Road Metals & Building stone from
an approved Mining Lease area extending over 2.25 Ha which is located in Survey No:07,
Sompuram (V), Vepada (M), Vizianagaram Dist., of A.P. The proposed capacity is
22499.998 Cu.m/Annum.

The Quarry Lease area is located at a distance of about 3.12 Km from Sompuram
Village to its and 5.9 km from Vepada Mandal. The quarry lease area is connected by
Araku - Viskhapatnam road.The nearest Railway Station is situated in Lakkavarapu
Kota which is at a distance of 3.47 Km from the Q.L.area.

2.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/BACKGROUND INFORMATION
2.1 Identification of project and project proponent. In case of mining project, a copy
of mining lease/letter of intent should be given.

2.2 Brief Description of nature of the project
M/s. Sri Navodaya Granite Industries Managing Partner A.Nagesh was granted Q.L
for Road Metals and Building Stone over an area of 2.25 Ha (Govt land) occurring at
Sy.No.07, Sompuram (V), Vepada (M), Vizianagaram Dist, A.P.by the DDM&G,
Visakhapatnam vide proceedings No. 2721/Q3V/2017, Dt: 10.08.2017.
The lease deed was executed before the Asst . Director of Mines & Geology ,
Vizianagaram vide proceedings No. 2545/Q/2017 dated : 7.08.2017
The DDMG has granted Quarry lease for Road Metals and Building stone occurring
at Sy.No. 07, Sompuram (V), Vepada (M), Vizianagaram Dist over an extent of 2.25
Ha in favor of M/s. Sri Veeranjaneya Blue Stone Crusher vide Lr. No. 1625/MP-
VZM/2017 dated 26.09.2017 for a period of 15.0 years.

2.3 Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region.
In the present scenario, the Road Metal has good market in the country for
construction of buildings, roads, dams, etc., The available of 100% of Road Metal is
useful. Therefore, there won’t be any wastage.
2.4 Demand-supply Gap.
There is a demand for Road Metal & Building Stone and is ever growing with the
growth of industrial sector in the country. The requirement of the mineral is always
found high in adjoining areas.
2.5 Imports V/s Indigenous production
Road Metal mined from the proposed project will neither be exported nor imported.
It is an indigenous production and will be supplied within the country.
2.6 Export Possibility
No export.
2.7 Domestic/ Export Markets
100% of the excavated road metal will be supplied to consumers for roads laying,
earth filling, infrastructure works etc.
2.8 Employment generation (Direct and Indirect due to the project)
The proposed project will generate direct employment to11 people of the poorest
section of the society, while benefitting more people indirectly.

3.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
3.1 Type of project including interlinked and interdependent projects, if any
The proposed mine is located at Sompuram Village, Vepada Mandal, Vzianagaram
District and mining of Road Metals and Building stone is opencast method and is
transported through vehicles.
3.2 Location
The mining area is located in Sy. No. 07, Sompuram Village, Vepada Mandal,
Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh. The mine lease area falls under the
Toposheet No. 65 N/4.

3.3 Details of alternate sites considered
The mineral is site specific, hence there are no alternative sites considered. Mining
activities are carried out based on local geology and availability of the mineral.
3.4 Size or magnitude of operation
The proposed mine has lease over an area of 5.55 Acres (2.25 Ha). The total
extractable material would be 22499.998 Cu.m/annum.

3.5 Project description with process details
Open cast Mining:
The proposed mining is an open cast method of mining. The Road Metals by nature it
is medium hard. So blasting is mandatory for excavation of Road Metals.
The operations will involve drilling, blasting and excavators and directly loads into
the tippers/tractors. The same will be transporting to crushing units. The excavations
will be carried with bench height 5 to 10 meters and width 6 to 12 meters minimum.
Haul roads gradient will be 1:16.

Around 2.5KLD of water will be required for the proposed project and will be met
through water tankers.
Water is required in the mine for spraying on the roads and working faces to suppress
the dust. Also a small quantity of drinking water is required.
3.9 Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their
management/ disposal.
0.4 KLD of domestic waste water will be generated and disposed to septic tank
followed by soak pit and generation of sub grade or reject material and waste is nil.

3.9.1 Solid Waste Generation& its Disposal
100% of the produced Road Metal will be useful. Hence no needs of waste dump
management. The top soil will be preserved within the lease area for using
reclamation of the pit at the time of closure
4. SITE ANALYSIS
4.1 Connectivity
The quarry lease area is connected by Araku – Visakhapatnam road
Nearest Railway Station
The Lakkavarapu Kota Railway Station at a distance of 3.47 kms from the mine
location.
Nearest Port
Visakhapatnam Port is about 44.26 Kms from QL area.
Nearest Highway
Nearest National Highway (NH-16) which is about 32.25 km away from the site and
Nearest State Highway-39 which is about 2.59 km away from the site.
4.2 Land form, land use and land ownership
The total lease area of 2.25 Ha bearing the Road metal an building stone shall be
utilized for quarrying. Measures will be taken for the reclamation only after the end of
mining scheme period.
4.3 Topography
Topographically the quarry lease area is covered with denudation hills of range
between 213 to 235 m above mean sea level. With reference to Topomap 65 N/4, the
mine area is located in the hill of 235 m and surrounding hills of 134 m & 140 m. The
hills of 140 m & 134 m are west side to the mine area.
4.4 Existing land use pattern
The total lease area bearing the road metal and Building stone shall be utilized for
quarrying.
4.5 Existing infrastructure
As it is the fresh mine, temporary sheds will be provided at site and well-equipped
first aid facilities with vehicle will be provided at office.

4.6 Soil classification
Major portion of over burdern removed is a mixture of soil and weathered granite.
The soil is preserved in the form of dumps, and part of it will be utilized for
afforestation in the surrounding own land where the dumping is proposed.
4.7 Climatic data from secondary sources
CLIMATE & RAINFALL
The mining lease area experience semi arid climatic condition. The mining lease area
experience 955 mm average annual rainfall. The day temperature varies 28°C in
winter and about 47°C in summer season. The general wind direction is SW to NE &
SE – NW.
4.8 Social infrastructure available
All the social infrastructure facilities like hospitals, schools, colleges etc are available
nearby villages, Mandal headquarters.
Employment generation, Infrastructure development viz roads, power & water supply,
medical facilities in villages etc.

5. PLANNING BRIEF
5.1 Planning concept (Type of industries, facilities, transportation etc) Town and
Country Planning/Development authority Classification.
The excavations will be carried with bench height 5 to 10 meters and width 6 to 12
meters minimum.
5.2 Population projection
The project will employ nearly 11 workers from nearby villages. Thus, there will not
be any increase in population due to the project.
5.3 Land use planning
This Road Metal & Building Stone and Gravel quarry Lease area is surrounded by
Road Metal Quarries and open lands.
5.4 Assessment of Infrastructure Demand (Physical and Social)
Safety equipments, small rest shelter and first aid facilities will be made available for
the workers in the mine lease area.
5.5 Amenities/facilities
The following facilities will be extended by the mine management:
i. Direct and indirect Employment.
ii. Arrangement for safe and healthy working conditions.
iii. Provision of drinking water.
iv. Conducting medical camps for workers and nearby villagers at regular intervals.
v. Providing personal protective equipments (PPE)

6. PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE
6.1 Industrial area (Processing Area)
No mineral processing will be carried out in the mine lease area. After excavation, the
black granite will be dispatched as per orders.
6.2 Residential area (Non Processing Area)
The mine workers will be hired from nearby villages, so residential areas will not be
made.
6.3 Green belt
Plantation will be made at open places and along the approach road.
6.4 Connectivity
The quarry lease area is connected by Araku – Visakhapatanam road
6.5 Water Management
Water Requirement for proposed project is 2.5 KLD which will be supplied by water
tankers.
6.6 Sewerage System
Domestic waste water generated will be treated in septic tank followed by soak pit.
6.7 Industrial Waste Management
Not applicable
6.8 Solid Waste management

7 REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT (R&R) PLAN
7.1 Policy to be adopted (Central/State) in respect of the project affected persons
including home oustees, land oustees and landless laborers (a brief outline to be
given)
No human settlements are existing in the ML area and no humans will be displaced
from the area so the proposed project does not involve any rehabilitation and
resettlement.
8. PROJECT SCHEDULE & COST ESTIMATES
8.1 Likely date of start of construction and likely date of completion (Time schedule
for the project to be given)
The project will commence once Environmental Clearance and other necessary
certificates are obtained from the respective departments.
8.2 Estimated project cost along with analysis in terms of economic viability of the
project.
The Total cost of project would be around Rs15.0 Lakhs.
9. ANALYSIS OF PROPOSAL (Final recommendations)
9.1 The Q.L. area is surrounded by 4 villages within the radius of 5 km. Agriculture and
sheep breeding are important profession of the people living in the villages besides
involving themselves in quarrying activity.
The main occupation of villagers is agriculture and sheep rearing. The quarrying
activity in this area improved the socio-economic status of the local people by virtue
direct and indirect employment.
