FOUNDATION STAGEFirst steps in education in Little Saints Nursery and Reception

We believe wholeheartedly that children learn best when they feel happy, secure and are engaged in active play and first hand experiences. Each day children have access to both indoor and outdoor learning environments, helping them to develop their independence and self-confidence.

The youngest children join Acorns in the term following their second birthday whilst our Saplings class takes three and four year olds. During their time in Little Saints Nursery, children are introduced to French, Music and P.E. by subject specialists, as well as having opportunities to develop their learning and experiences in the school’s own woodland. We pride ourselves on our happy and welcoming community. Our aim is to ensure that all children are given the best possible start to their education. We encourage every child to do their best in the classroom and to achieve in all other aspects of school life as well. The range of opportunities in academics, sport, music, art and design, drama, technology and in extra-curricular clubs allows our pupils to identify and develop their talents and builds self-confidence across their whole educational experience.

Our Core Values, summarised in the ‘St Francis Framework’, are based on Christian principles, setting out for all members of the school community the right way to behave and to treat each other. We teach the importance of respect for others, good manners, kindness and honesty.

Looking through the words and pictures of this prospectus gives you a good impression of the school but they are only a taste of what life at St Francis School has to offer. You are warmly invited to visit us: I would be delighted to show you around our school and to explain in more detail how St Francis would inspire your child.

David Sibson, Headmaster.
