WHAT COULD I USE FROM THE ORPHAN TRAILER AS INSPIRATION FOR MY OWN? THEMES & NARRATIVE The themes I would use from this film is the idea of having such a large untold secret that when revealed at the end makes things that have happened in the trailer seem more apparent and meaningful than initially thought. I also like how they have used the theme surrounding paranoia, which we begin to see the trailer act upon using the family. It is also loosely playing with the idea of the supernatural, being that this girl does have powers that she can't control. CHARACTERS After watching and analysing the trailer for Orphan I feel like there are many elements of the film that I could incorporate into my own trailer. These include elements under themes and narrative, characters, mise-en-scene, shots and sounds. MISE-EN-SCENE I think the mise-en- scene of the trailer depends entirely on the story line and budget you are following. There is not much I could realistically take from this trailer. SOUND I will definitely take inspiration from the sound they used. How it starts off mellow, matching the clips we see and then begins to build up and quicken as the pace of the trailer increases and the tension rises. SOME OF THE CHARACTERS TYPES USED: Innocent family and parents trying to do a good thing, annoying young boy, young girl antagonist. We are made to feel sorry for the young children who seem to be being victimised and harmed by the girl.

WHAT COULD I USE FROM THE ORPHAN TRAILER AS

INSPIRATION FOR MY OWN?

THEMES & NARRATIVE

The themes I would use from this film is the idea of having such a large untold secret that when revealed at the end makes things that have happened in the trailer seem more apparent and meaningful than initially thought. I also like how they have used the theme surrounding paranoia, which we begin to see the trailer act upon using the family. It is also loosely playing with the idea of the supernatural, being that this girl does have powers that she can't control.

CHARACTERS

After watching and analysing the trailer for Orphan I feel like there are many elements of the film that I could incorporate into my own trailer. These include elements under themes and narrative, characters, mise-en-scene, shots and sounds.

MISE-EN-SCENE

I think the mise-en-scene of the trailer depends entirely on the story line and budget you are following. There is not much I could realistically take from this trailer.

SOUND

I will definitely take inspiration from the sound they used. How it starts off mellow, matching the clips we see and then begins to build up and quicken as the pace of the trailer increases and the tension rises.

SOME OF THE CHARACTERS TYPES USED:Innocent family and parents trying to do a good thing, annoying young boy, young girl antagonist. We are made to feel sorry for the young children who seem to be being victimised and harmed by the girl.
