Beat It

I think note it would be my best idea so far. I like the play on words and I believe it does not exclude a sex; harmony is very feminine and I believe it could cut out the male audience and I would like my magazine to be open to both sex’s .

Mood Board My Mood Bored as been constructed around a number of articles, and magazines I have found on the internet. I looked around a few websites and just picked out a few images that caught my eye and I thought looked good.

Mast Head Ideas

I think this image could make a good mast head if I re-designed it to make it my own and replaced the ‘o’ in Note It with the speaker, and have the trail of music behind the writing. The speaker relates well to my target genre (chart music) as speakers are very modern and often associated with modern music.

With this kind of symbol I would like to create the same impression as above and again replace the same letter. This is also more simplistic which would mean I could give a lot more detail to the rest of the cover.

I have a few Ideas for my mast head mainly based around notes. Below are what I believe to be my biggest inspiration for my mast head .

Colour Schemes

Here I just fiddled around with a few colour schemes I liked. As colour is one of the most important things to consider for your front cover I wanted to make sure I found one that works well. The bottom two are my favourite as they are quite simple and very eye catching. I plan to test both on my magazine to see which I like the best.

Photo Shoot IdeasI would like a range of photos for my magazine. I would like to use

the college cameras to take pictures of two people, 1 girl and 1 boy, as my main models. The girl (Molly) is going to be my cover photo. I would like them to be fun and upbeat, then maybe some close ups to use on my contents page.

My male model (Harry) will be used mainly on my contents page and maybe my double page spread. I would like them to be more serious than upbeat and a range of different camera angles and shots.

I will also use a range of photos from previous concerts I have been to and maybe my album cover I designed at the start of the year as part of my magazine.

My double page spread photo on the other hand I am not sure what to do. I think I will take a series of test shots until I find one that fits.

Fonts

I tested many fonts but I found that a very simple font would be my best bet with such a complex mast head.

DPS Questions 1. Why did you start singing? “Well I have been singing since I was able to talk, but I suppose it wasn’t till I joined my

town’s local music group that I decided I wanted to do it professionally”2. How were your musical talents recognised? “Know this one is a funny story. I was walking down Cromer Pier singing to

myself when I bumped into my manager. He said he had heard me sing a few times now and would like me to record a song for him. Of course I agreed and from there it just blew up”

3. Wait you bumped into him? (Laughing) “Yes he was on his phone and I had my head in the clouds and we just smacked into each other”

4. When did you decide you wanted to tour? “Oh I have always wanted to tour I just needed to wait for the right time”5. What can people expect to see at your live performances? “They can expect to see me!! (laugh) no they can defiantly

expect to have a good time, I never let it get boring, and I always have to put a little bit of my own style into everything I do, but I don’t want to give away too much you will just have to come and see”

6. What is the worst mistake you have made on stage? “Okay I managed to cover it up quite well…I think but on my first day of the tour I did face plant the floor!!”

7. How did you cover that up? “I attempted to interpret into my dance routine, I think it actually made it look better (laugh)”

8. What was the best part of your Tour? “After every venue I would go to my trailer and just have half an hour to look at where I am. I just loved the time to myself and to reflect back on how far I’ve come”

9. What was the worst? “Leaving; I hated leaving every venue and watching all my fans just disappear behind me, I actually cried after my last leg of the tour”

10. Have you got any more tours lined up? “There may be some to come; this is only the end of the beginning”11. Is there anything you would like to say to your fans? “I would like to say thanks to every one of you. You have held me

together through a few tough times and you all mean so much to me, so thank you for just being there, and there is a new Album coming out based on the tour for all of you that couldn’t come”

My Magazine • My music magazine is going to be all about the current chart

music. It will follow what is in the charts giving a unique view on the upcoming events, gigs, and Hit songs, as it will take into account the audiences opinion. I would like it to be quite modern relating to a wide target audience of the current main stream teenager.

Magazine Edited I have decided to change many things with my magazine starting with the

name. It is now called ‘View Point’ as I wanted to relate more to the audience.

I have also Completely changed to mast head to (pic). This is to reinforce the name of my magazine and that it stands for the audiences point of view.

As I changed my mats head to something more simple I went back to testing fonts, as I thought it looked to plain. I finally came across a nice font that seemed to fit well with the image. It is a bit more detailed but not to much so that it draws the attention away from the mast head.

My chosen colour scheme has stayed the same though I have changed a lot of my front cover around, so that it fits better with the new direction of the magazine.
