He was a native of Coleman Texas, born in 1905. As a teenager, he began studying music at the Central Normal School of Little Rock and at the age of eighteen, began singing with quartets and doing radio work. One group, the Overall Quartetwas sponsored by JC Penny and the singers sported overalls with a white shirt and black bow tie in each perfor- mance. After his marriage in 1928, he and his wife set- tled in Fort Worth where he had a music studio and taught piano and voice for 25 years. They returned to their home town in Coleman and worshiped at the Elm St. Church of Christ. In 1937, he helped to organize the National Music Co. and for several years, the com- pany published two song books per year. Each sum- mer, the company also sponsored the National School of Music. Through the 50’s and 60’s, Robert Arnold managed and sang with the National Quartet”. Brother Arnold spent his entire life promoting Southern Gospel Music. One of his major contributions was in perpetuating shape-note singing schools and he pub- lished over sixty books and sheet music to accommo- date the shape note instruction. His greatest love was in instructing the average person to learn to sing through shape note reading and he continued this work until he was 98 years old. His song writing skills also included writing many popular gospel songs that were recorded by major recording stars and well known gos- pel quartets. Born with an abundance of talents, Brother Arnold shared a gift of music that enthused and uplifted many Christian hearts. With A lifetime spent sharing this gift, we are reminded in 1 Peter 4:10, As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to an- other as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.Ye are the light of the world. Fun For All at 2017 L2L Convention... West Side is proud of those who took part in L2L pro- gram for 2017. The youth debated, led songs, gave speeches, performed in puppet drama, took part in art, read scripture and volunteered while at the convention. Whether they were participants or cheerleaders for the kids, all enjoyed the fun and fellowship of Christian minds, brothers and sisters, in a common cause for the young people of our congregation. One of the speak- ers noted that these kids are not just the future of the Lords Church, they are the NOW”. They are watch- ing the adults of the church, listening to what the adults say and do and learning lessons that will strengthen their growth and spur them on as faithful Christians, leaders and workers for Christ. Twenty six youth and family members attended the week end event. Love and thanks are given to Todd and Genny Stults for their hard work and organizational skills in taking care of everyone and making the weekend to- gether a great success. So he said to me, ‘these are the ones who come out of the great tribulation and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. Therefore, are they before the throne of God and they serve Him day and night in His temple and He that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’” This marvelous word-picture from the pen of the apostle John closes with a beautiful expression: “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” These are not the tears of all men but the tears of God’s children.” With their tears, the pages of history are stained. God’s people shed tears in many ways. Let’s list some of them: Tears of Pity—compassionate people weeping the fearful doom of hardened sinners (Luke 19:41-44) There are tears of sympathy—tenderhearted friends who share sorrow, who weep with the ones who weep (John 11:35). Tears of Bereavement—a David weeping for his son, Absalom, (2 Samuel 18:31) or a Rachel weeping for her children because they were no more (Matt. 2:16-18). Tears of penitent souls who weep over the memory of past mistakes (Luke 7:36-38). Tears of anxiety-earnest Christian workers who are deeply concerned with the moral and spiritual well-being of the people with whom they live and work (Acts 20:31). And there are tears of sacrifice—tears of God’s children who suffer personal loss to the end that the church may go forward that the gospel may be preached in those regions where it has never be heard (Psa. 126:5 and Acts 20:19). But the Father, with a tender hand, “will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” Loyal followers of the King are forever beyond the reach of harm…all sadness is taken away. What a beautiful promise. What assurance this allows a Christian to possess.

“No Tears in Heaven” Charles Beebe

You may have heard of Robert S. Arnold who lived well into his nineties. He was a de-voted Christian man and an excellent song writer. One of his songs is many people’s fa-vorite, “No Tears in Heaven.” Imagine no tears up there, sorrow and pain will all have flown. No tears in heaven will be known.

Listen to these beautiful words expressed in Revelation 7:13-17, “Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, ‘Who are these arrayed in white robes and where did they come from?’ And I said to him, ‘Sir, you know’. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

This marvelous word-picture from the pen of the apostle John closes with a beautiful expression: “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” These are not the tears of all men but the tears of God’s children.” With their tears, the pages of history are stained.

God’s people shed tears in many ways. Let’s list some of them:

Tears of Pity—compassionate people weeping the fearful doom of hardened sinners (Luke 19:41-44)

There are tears of sympathy—tenderhearted friends who share sorrow, who weep with the ones who weep (John 11:35).

Tears of anxiety-earnest Christian workers who are deeply concerned with the moral

and spiritual well-being of the people with whom they live and work (Acts 20:31).
