Obituary Lizzie was born in Ware County, Georgia on November 2,
1927 to the late Wilson and Clyde Barnar. She received her
formal education in the Ware County School System.
Her last place of employment was Benton’s Seafood, in
Douglas, GA.
She was married to the late Alton Gaskin and to this union
thirteen children were born; James Gaskin, Tiny Lavaughn,
Lizzie Mae Wilcox, Jackie Bailey, Cecil Gaskin, David
Gaskin, Roosevelt Gaskin, Sandra Bennett, Wilson Gaskin,
Margaret Gaskin, Carla Jefferson, Zinet Gaskin, and
Wanda Gaskin.
She was a member of St. John Baptist Church under the
leadership of Pastor Edward Glover.
Lizzie was preceded in death by her parents; the late
Wilson and Clyde Barnar; her daughters; Wanda Gaskin,
Lizzie Mae Wilcox, and Zinet Gaskin-Martin; her son;
Cecil Gaskin; four brothers and five sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four sons;

David(Veronica)Gaskin of Jacksonville, FL,
Roosevelt(Darlene)Gaskin of Jacksonville, FL,
Wilson(Mary)Gaskin of Waycross, GA; six daughters;
Sandra(James)Bennett of Douglas, GA, Margaret Gaskin
of Brunswick, GA, Tiny(Al)LaVaughn of Douglas, GA,
Carla(Marvin)Jefferson of Albany, GA,
Jackie(Jessie)Bailey of Douglas, GA, and
Debra(Chris)Lester of Douglas, Ga; one sister; Evelyn
Smithson; two son-in-laws; Tyrone Reed and Raymond
Martin; 45 grandchildren, 120 great grandchildren, and 64
great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and
nephews; and a special neighbor Sharon Gibson.
