Dec 10th-12th - A moist Pacific storm system produced valley rain and mountain snow
statewide over a 3 day period. The rain changed over to snow across the valleys on the 12th as colder air filtered into the state. The heaviest snowfall occurred over southern
and central portions of Utah.

Dec 14th-16th - A strong winter storm brought the first real bout of heavy snow to the
Beehive state, causing traffic nightmares on the roads, but also providing much needed snow to the ski areas. This storm slowly moved across Utah over a 3-day period. The
Northern Wasatch Front was pounded, with nearly 30 inches falling on the Bountiful Bench. In fact much of the Wasatch Front received 1-2 feet of heavy, wet snow...with
nearly 3 feet in many of the northern ski resorts.

Middle (Left): Nasty road conditions at Echo Junction. (Right): Snow covering road at SR-224/248 junction.
Bottom (Left): Slow moving traffic in Salt Lake Valley. (Right): Large snowflakes falling at University of Utah.

Dec 21st-23rd - A powerful winter storm brought huge amounts of snow to Northern
Utah, with lesser amounts across the rest of the state. Just in time for the holidays, ski resorts were blessed with several feet of fresh powder. Needless to say, this made for
treacherous driving conditions with many accidents reported especially along the urban corridor of the Wasatch Front. Avalanche danger became extreme in the mountains.

Dec 24th-26th - As if there were any doubt of a White Christmas for the majority of
Utah, mother nature saw fit to bring another storm into the state on Christmas Eve. Though not as strong as the last couple of snowstorms, it still packed a pretty good
punch and made traveling difficult in many areas. Gusty winds blew the snow into drifts over the higher terrain and portions of the Wasatch Front.
Above: A White Christmas was the norm in Northern Utah, including this residence in Lehi.

Dec 29th-30th - The month of December and the year 2015 went out with another
shot of snow, though a mere dusting compared to the previous events. It was cold enough however that what snow fell made for slick conditions on area roadways.
Above: Mosaic showing road conditions across portions of Northern Utah as the last storm moves through.
