We produce a wide variety of precast products suchas: AASHTO beams, NU beams, box girders,hollow core slabs, double tee slabs, retainingwalls, reinforced earth walls, central barriers,columns, beams, bleachers, pedestrian bridges,tunnel segments, and all sort of precast elementsused in the construction of buildings, warehouses,bridges, stadiums, etc. to satisfy the nationalconstruction requirements.

We manufacture reinforced and prestressedprecast concrete elements, being our main priorityto provide a total customer service. We can offerarchitectural and structural projects, projectanalysis and design, production on plant and onsite, transportation and erection of the concreteelements, site construction assembly andconnections, project managing and supervision.

In addition, we guarantee the quality of theprecast elements produced in SEPSA , bysupervising the manufacturing processes, andverifying that all the materials used comply withthe technical specifications of each project.

BUILDINGS

Precast structures are a good alternative for theconstruction of office and apartment buildings,shopping malls, parking facilities, hospitals, schools,universities, warehouses, stadiums, among others.The use of prestressed concrete allows theoptimization of the concrete elements, resulting ineconomic and very efficient structures.

The reduction in beam depths and the capability ofgreater spans are, among others, the mainadvantages of precast/prestressed structures. Thisrepresents an important reduction in the totalbuilding weight, therefore, less load on thefoundation. Consequently, structural and economicbenefits that result in cost reduction.

In building construction, the structure can be either“totally precast” or “partially precast”. According tothe project, a building can have cast in place columnsand precast oor system, which makes it a combinestructure or “partially precast”. Structures with precastcolumns, beams, and oor system are called “totallyprecast” structures.

The oor system depends on the loads, the span, andthe structure characteristics. The project design willdetermine the best precast solution. Among the mostcommon sections used in oor systems are: hollowcore Ultra-Span slabs, double Tees, or single Tees.

This structural system is successfully applied and testedthroughout Mexico, also in high seismic zones such asMéxico City.

SEPSA, as a result of the research and development ofnew connection systems, has developed a solution forthe beam to column connection that improves thebuilding structural behavior.

The SEPSA connection allows by means of a wetconnection, the installation of negative and positivereinforcement in a very simple way, without the use ofcorbels or welding. This result on a monolithicconnection to be consider in the structure analysis.

Buildings for educational use are ideal for precastconstruction, due to the modular configuration theyusually have. Standardization of elements can be themajor advantage in production and construction timereduction.

Different structure elements can be fabricatedsimultaneously resulting in a faster construction.

SEPSA has a great experience in the construction ofparking facilities. We can perform the structuralanalysis and design according to the actual codesand regulations and carry out the total constructionfrom beginning to the end.

Using the SEPSA connection, full height columns canbe erected, speeding up the beam and oor systemassembly. Usually hollow core slabs, double Tees orsingle Tees are used as oor systems. Spans can be aslong as 26 meters.

The use of precast structures in shopping malls iswhere the major economic benefits are obtained.SEPSA has made satisfied customers usingprecast/prestressed concrete elements in theconstruction of shopping malls.

Due to reduction of construction time using a precaststructure, owners can start business sooner than withother type of construction. This results in a fasterinvestment return.

Precast bridge construction has demonstrated to betechnically and constructively efficient and competitivefor middle span (20 to 60 meters) highway and urbanbridges.Construction time reduction, concrete beamsefficiency, and depth reduction, are some of theadvantages that justify the competitiveness of theprecast solution versus other solutions.

SEPSA has a variety of precast elements for bridgeconstruction, not only for the superstructure beams,but for substructure headers and columns. AASHTObeams, NU beams, box girders, are the mostcommon beams used for superstructures. The“winged box girder” is SEPSA´s innovation and hasbeen widely used throughout the country in variousmid span bridges.

SEPSA´s full height retaining walls for reinforced earthare used for bridge approaches. Columns and headerbeams of different shapes and sizes, has been designand prefabricated to solve bridge substructures.

SEPSA has the alternative to install mobile plantswhere, due to the site conditions, the access iscomplicated or the beam dimensions exceed trafficregulations. Using special formwork and selfstressingbeds, we can fabricate on site pre-tensionedor posttensioned beams.

POST-TENSIONING

Post-tensioning of structures has become a common pres t ress ing method special ly in bui ld ing construction.

SEPSA has the equipment and personnelto perform posttensioning of structures with safety,efficiency, and technology to satisfy any projectrequirements. Several level office and apartmentbuildings, parking facilities, stadiums, bridges,foundation slabs, water tanks, are some of thestructures where the post-tension system can be used.

Jobs where pre-tensioned elements are difficult to usedue to beam dimensions, shape, job conditions, orgeographic difficulties to transport precast beams,cast in site posttensioned beams is a great solution.

SEPSA has the most advanced post-tensioningequipment capable to stress from single coatedstrands up to multi-strand tendons 0.5” and 0.6”strand diameter, which all the strands can be stressedin one single operation. This guarantee that all thestrands in the duct are stressed even, making moreefficient and fast the stressing process.

Using post-tensioned bridge beams cast in place, hasthe beneficial cost compensation with the reductionon transportation costs. The sections commonly usedin post-tensioning bridge construction are: AASHTOtype beams, NU beams, and segmental box girders,as well as substructure header beams.

The auto-launching system allows the equipment tomove to the next span, without the use of externalsupport cranes. SEPSA´s launcher DJ60130 is capable to launch beams with longitudinal slopes up to 7% on maximum cross fall, minimum curve radius of 300 meters, and up to 45 degrees of skew.

BEAM LAUNCHINGSEPSA has the most advanced and specializedlaunching equipment capable to launch, over anycliff or river bank, bridge beams up to 60 meterslong and 130 metric tons. This equipment is idealwhere conventional cranes cannot be used due tothe orographic conditions, gore depth, or difficultcrane access.
