PRELIMINARY TASK AND PROGRESS

IMPROVEMENTS We have improved our editing and camera angles since our preliminary task and have made progress, as we have learnt new editing skills in our film that we hadn’t used in our preliminary task, such as graphic match and adjusting the colour of our clip, we have also used various different camera angles.

SHOT REVERSE SHOT I have shown I can do continuity, such as shot reverse shot, we did this in our preliminary exercise, during in our ‘interview’ conversation. In our film we used shot reverse shot for Cammy’s reaction to the laptop.

180 DEGREE RULE We kept to the 180 degree rule in our preliminary task, keeping Owen on the left side of the room and Cameron on the right, we did not cross the 180 degree line.

We also didn’t break this rule when Josh is walking down the stairs, when Cammy is approaching Owen and Owen is facing in the right direction towards Cammy.

MATCH ON ACTION We used match on action in our preliminary task, when Owen opens the door, we use this again when Josh opens the door in our film and when Cammy removes the knife from her bag.

GRAPHIC MATCH We have used a graphic match in our scene where Cammy’s hands are covered in blood, to the next clip of her hands on the laptop.

COLOUR EDIT We had to edit the colour of Cammy’s hands while she was washing them in the sink as the blood washed off it turned it to a orange colour, we wanted the blood to look more realistic.
