Air Root style • Trunk built up of heavy roots • Many branches allow for plenty of choice for primary branch structure to build up final image
• Untreated cut marks need working • Heavy branches can no longer be shaped • Best option is to start the branch structure with relatively young branches (max 2-3 year old)

Air Root style • The goal is to keep roots that make up the ‘trunk line’ the focal point of the design • The primary branches are shaped to correspond with the movement of the trunk
• Heavy branches that could not be wired / shaped were removed • Any cut marks or was marks were treated and covered with wound balm • Further development of ramification will be completed by wiring the new growth into the design followed by regular pruning to keep the internodes as short as possible
