Watermelon song
Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon,
Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon,
Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon,
Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon
You eat them when they’re ripe
You cut them with a knife
You gulp them down in one bite
Their watermelons, their watermelons
You dig in with a spoon
You can also use a fork
You cut them up with a knife
And then you do the watermelon.
Their watermelons, their watermelons
You get them from watermelon hill,
The watermelon man comes and gives
them to you
You can choose the skinny and dry one
Or you can choose the big and juiciest
You can make a hole, and hollow them
out
Then you can pour inside watermelon
juice. Attach a tap and you’re ready to
go!
Their watermelons, their watermelons
You get them from the watermelon
tree,
From the watermelon

The cast of 'Alice in Wonderland' put on a dazzling performance. The prep
children worked hard to learn vast quantities of lines and Miss T was extremely
impressed. They all shone on the stage like the brightest stars and it was lovely
to see each and every member of the cast smiling throughout the performance.
Miss T would like to thank the backstage crew who did a sterling job. Well done to
everyone!

Senior Sports Day- Thursday 20th June There was a swimming gala for years 5-10. There was a lot of swimming races, there was also
some fun races such as the t-shirt race, obstacle race and the swan race. Everyone had fun.
Back at school we went to the courts to play some games. Then afterwards the teachers
covered the house mascots in shaving foam. We had to spray all the shaving foam off. After
that was the track races. - Phoebe and Laila year 5

Pupils, families and staff
have given their thanks
to Mrs Bayliss as she retires after 28 years of
teaching, 22 of which have been at Leehurst
Swan.
Pupils paid tribute to our wonderful Head of
Prep with individual, group and class
performances including poems, songs and
drama.
Mrs Bayliss, accompanied by her
daughter, was very
moved.
We would like to say a big THANK YOU for
everything Mrs Bayliss has given to the pupils
and the wider Leehurst Swan community over
the years.

What have you enjoyed most about
being head of prep?
I have enjoyed getting to know the pupils
and seeing them grow from little Reception
Swans into confident Year 6 pupils,
ready to "fly the Prep nest".
What are you most looking forward
to about your retirement?
I hope to spend more time walking my dog, gardening and looking
after grandchildren and perhaps travelling too. I may try to work
part time too, as I like to be busy!
What has been your highlight of this year?
There have been wonderful times as well as less happy ones. The
Christingle, the lovely carol service at the Cathedral, the
Pantomania Drama pantomime, the wonderful concerts, "Alice"
and "Crime doesn't pay", sports day and the Farewell Assembly
put on for me- that was so special!
What is your best memory from your whole time in the Prep
school?
My best memories- perhaps visiting the wonderful Water
Meadows with Year 3, my son opening the fete last year, some of
our celebrations like Lift Off day, the celebrations for HM the
Queen's jubilee like the Street party, visits like those the Roman
Baths or the Museum of Army Flying, Wren Hall in the Close in the
old days, Salisbury Cathedral WW1 day etc.
What is your favourite thing about Leehurst Swan?
The polite, friendly, helpful, enthusiastic children.
We will miss you Mrs Bayliss!
Interviewing Mrs Bayliss
