Encourage IndependenceLet your child do what h/she is capable of. Most kids want to do things on their own be it sitting on the chair during meals or putting on their shoes. Help them be more self-sufficient and resist doing what they can for themselves.

Raise your expectations and children will probably try to meet them. Expect your child to do small things for himself like pouring his own water, throw away his dishes, hang up this jacket with your support where needed.

CooperateResist the urge to redo your child’s actions. Whenever he makes his bed, dresses himself in his favorite t-shirt and trousers or stores his toys in place after finished playing, appreciate his accomplishments with a complement rather than going back and fixing what they’ve done.

Discipline Properly• Redirect your child to a more productive activity like

drawing pictures or reading a book when they are misbehaving or indulging in improper behaviors like yelling at someone or jumping on the couch.

• Not only when misbehaving but teach your child good behavior lessons in general to raise your child into a well-behaved adult.
