GOAL the NAMA will promote the implementation of a financial
mechanism and the extension of the program PROBIOMASA
promote the generation of electrical or
thermal energy
from biomass residues at local, provincial and
national level
promote regional development and
reduce
national GHG emissions
The goal of the pilot phase
is to increase the contribution of
bioenergy in the energy
mix to 400 MW, divided into 200 MW electricity and 200 MW thermal
power
Second phase, the financial
mechanism will be expanded with the goal
to
have an installed capacity of 2650 MW of
bioenergy by 2030, divided into 1325 MW
electricity and 1325 MW of heat.
Scope of the NAMA • The NAMA PROBIOMASA will be
implemented at local, provincial and national level and promotes projects for energy generation from biomass residues that are viable from a technical, socio-economic and environmental point of view.
• The NAMA targets sectors that produce volumes of biomass that are big enough to implement technically and financially feasible projects. The included sectors, in order of priority, are:
• Forestry and wood processing industry; Sugar cane industry (bagasse) and primary production;
• Cereal industry; and primary production; Livestock; Fruit industry;
Eligible projects are projects for self-supply, distributed generation and grid connection
and environmental criteria for the
project category under consideration.
that meet predefined technical, economic,
social
Investment support (example)
During the pilot phase of the NAMA, part of the resources of the grant fund will be allocated to self-supply projects and distributed power systems that can demonstrate a significant positive impact on regional development and need additional funding to be profitable.
The selected projects can receive a support of up to 20% of the total investment cost up to a maximum of USD 250,000 per project.
- Maximum installed capacity of 0.5 MW
- Demonstrated contribution to rural/social/environmental development
- Demonstrated need for additional financial support
The application for this non-refundable support will be assessed individually based on the information/studies
submitted by the applicant to PROBIOMASA.
Projects receiving support will not be eligible for another support, such as the result-based payment.
In addition to the general selection criteria mentioned above, to be eligible, projects would have to comply with the following criteria:
