At New Materiales we work in the markets for ceramics,
glass, metallurgy, steel, abrasives, polishing and
galvanotechnics, providing a wide range of metal oxides and
synthetic products, in addition to natural raw materials and
additives.
We are especially present in the ceramic market in southern
Europe and northern Africa, distributing raw materials for the
manufacture of pigments, inks, enamels, frits, effects and
functional materials.
The vocation of service pushes us to constantly search for
new products that anticipate market needs.
Thanks to a broad knowledge of the market and the constant
search for improvement and innovation, we can offer our
customers and suppliers the quality and service they

Degree and PhD in Geology from the Institute of Material Science ICMAB – CSIC, Barcelona, Spain.
Involvement with Leadership Development programme at IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain.
Joan has over 20 years’ experience in the world of ceramics and inorganic materials, having held the positions of
Technical Manager and R&D&I Manager at a pigment and glaze production plant, first for the German group,
Reimbold und Strick, and then for the Spanish group, Torrecid.
He is very familiar with all the raw materials and processed linked with ceramics and glass, and he is very
experienced in auditing production plants.
Joan joined EMSA at the start of 2018 to take charge of the Ceramics and Glass Business Unit, with the aim of
leading the diversification of the client and product portfolio.
