Use de present continuos with normal verbs to the

Use 1

Example.

• you are learning English now.

• you are not swimming now.

• Are you sleeping

Use 2.

• We Use the Present continuous to say that we are in the process of doing a longer action which is in progress; however, we might not be doing it at this exact second.

Example.

• I am studying to become a doctor

• I am not studying to becom a dentist.

Use 3

Sometime, speakers use the

present continuous to indicate that

something will not happen in the

near future.

Examples.

• I am not going to the party tonight.

• Is he visiting his parents next weekend?

• Isn’t he coming with us tonight?

continuous present tense • the structure of the present continuous in English is simple:

Subject + verb to be conjugated verb ending-ing (gerund) Conjugación Significado

I am singing Yo estoy cantando

You are singing Tu estas cantando

He is singing El esta cantando

We are singing Nosotros estamos cantando

You are singing Vosotros estais cantando

They are singing Ellos estan cantando

Construction of the gerund.

• As a general rule to form the English gerund-ing is added.

Although we have to take into account some considerations:

• Denial with full verbs (ie not modal and auxiliary) is very simple:
