INS VALLVERA

INS Vallvera is a formal education public school. The school is run by the regional government of Catalonia which is called “Generalitat de Catalunya”, and is financed by public funds.

TEACHING FACILITIES INCLUDE: Well equipped ICT classroomsPractice rooms where students can work with an adapted flat for disabled people, care health and social care equipment, etc.

We have 1000 students, 95 teachers and we offer courses from secondary compulsory education to vocational studies. The secondary compulsory education in Spain is between the ages of twelve and sixteen. When the students get the Certificate in Secondary Education, they may stay in our school in order to pursue further studies.

LEARNING AND SERVICE ACTIVITIES

We strongly believe in new learning methodologies and we focus all our efforts in one of these, the learning and service activities. We can practice all the professional skills and the benefit is in both directions.

VET INTERMEDIATE OR ADVANCED LEVEL

WORK PLACEMENTAt the end of the course, the students spend 383 or 350 hours, depending on the studies, doing work placements in order to practice the key skills, previously learned. These placements are fully supported by a placement coordinator. In these placements the students are given numerous opportunities to increase their employability.

• WORK PLACEMENT• Institut Vallvera has been deeply involved in international

activities both as coordinator and partner.• A central part of the international activities is mobility for VET

students and the college acts as both sending and receiving partners in a widespread European network.

• We have have taken part in student mobility projects since 2009-2010 academic year. In particular, 19 students have benefitted from these projects so far.

• The countries where former mobilities have taken place in are Italy, Denmark (Aarhus) and United Kingdom (Wales). Also, in this year France joined us (Toulouse).

• The students who take part in these projects are from High and Intermediate Vocational Training Studies in early childhood Education, Socio-cultural and Tourist Leisure Activities and Health and Social care. The European Commission hereby awards our center with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020.
