Africa has always been, for the Planetworkshops,

    the continent of innovative possibilities.

For the first time since the Earth Summit of Rio, in

1992, COP 21 will be the international scene for

legitimate claims from African leaders and

    entrepreneurs.

Global warming constitutes an unfair reality of the

populations, the rulers and the companies of the

    continent.

No meeting, no forum, and especially no solution

have never been proposed facing the perils that

African nations are facing today. The

Planetworkshops have the ambition to create

such a unique space in order to favour meetings

between stakeholders from all over the world.

The LAB will be the incarnation of this space

The Planetworkshops - PresentationCreated in 2006 by Eric Bazin and George J. Gendelman,The Planetworkshops are a think tankrich of seven

years of experience in bringing together stakeholders concerned by the emerging challenges of sustainable

development. By acquiring each year a strong recognition on the international scene, The Planetworkshopswishes to gather and increase awareness on a global change of our ways of life and governance. This think

tank works on the transformation of societies towards new models of development which are more respectful

of human beings and of the environment in industrialized and developing countries.

The Planetworkshops mission gathers several objectives:

Animating and challenging the life of ideas around sustainable development issues; Encouraging intellectual innovation and produce expertise to accompany the long-term vision of

    decision-makers; Meshing networks of influence and conducting lobbying actions towards decision-makers;

Fostering collaboration between public and private spheres, and serving as a communication channel

between politicians, businesses, experts and civil society actors; Valorising innovative solutions and spreading good practices sharing.

The Planetworkshops networks are multi-disciplinary and international:

International organizations Small and multinational companies Government representatives and local political leaders

Scientific and academic institutions Non-Governmental Organizations Personalities - Opinion leaders Medias Artists

Those "Planetworkers" gather annually at our major event, the Global Conference, a link between

stakeholders to carry out reflections initiated by The Planetworkshops. Provider of solutions for change,

beyond the Global Conference, The Planetworkshops sets up each year working commissions bringing

together international experts to make concrete recommendations to decision-makers, the advances beingpresented during breakfasts and conferences organized at the Htel de lIndustrie in partnership with La

Socit dEncouragement pour lIndustrie Nationale. As a think tank, The Planetworkshops are also

occasionally solicited for the development of thematic conferences' program or organization in France and

abroad (CSR Conference in Pointe-Noire, Chlons-en-Champagne Fair, Rio Earth Summit). The think tank also

develops his reflections through the publication of thematic studies or journals (La Revue de la Terre).

Le LAB - Land of African Business

    COP 21 - AFRICA OFF EVENTDecember 2nd 11th, 2015

uring the COP 21, which will take place atLe Bourget - France, from November 30th

    to December 11th 2015, The

    Planetworkshops are pleased to organize

in the private mansion of the Socit

    dEncouragement de lIndustrie Nationale the

"AFRICA OFF COP 21" especially dedicated to all the

    African countries.

This "Land of African Business ", located in the

heart of Paris in the Htel de lIndustrie et delInnovation, will be an African showcase and aparticular place for sharing the innovative "Best

Practices" implemented in Africa around global

    warming issues.

This forum, organized in partnership with the

Franco- African Foundation for Growth as well as

    NGOs, experts, students, industrials groups

involved in the African continent will allow the

"African voice to be heard, which has

unfortunately so far not resonated enough in the

    previous Conferences of Parties.

Beyond being considered as a truly original

initiative in this international forum of

negotiations, this special African meeting, located

in the heart of the French capital, will be very

attractive for French and international medias. As

a matter of fact, The Planetworkshopswishes to

offer during the Conferences of Parties a unique

and particular place that will bring together

    delegations business managers, political,

Medias, artists, experts, and students from allAfrican countries.

Indeed, the highest authorities of the 54 countries

of the African continent will be present to make

their voices heard during what is already

presented as the "final climate negotiations" for

the situation is considered as dramatic.

In 2009, in Copenhagen, African countries had

unfortunately not been heard. Threatening to

leave the table of negotiations, their legitimateclaims did not find echo enhancing their positionwith major stakeholders involved in the climate

change: United States, China, India and the

    European Union.

6 years later, things have changed

Indeed, for the first time in its history, the African

continent can legitimately claim the world's

highest growth rates. In addition, issues like

health, food safety, urbanization, climate change,

waste management, women's rights, greenfinancial mechanisms, education or even green

business, will be at the heart of negotiations at

    COP 21.

The President of the French Republic, Mr. Franois

Hollande, has made a major diplomatic, political

and economic marker of his five years of term. The

initiative led by the Planetworkshops, the Socit

    dEncouragement de lIndustrie Nationaleand all

partners who wish to join us, will sound like an

    echo to this international ambition.

Through conferences and meetings, we will offer

the African nations a unique "place of life and

hospitality, a way to make their voices heard

during this COP21 and enhance their expertise and

    views on climate change.

The Land of African Business might also be

considered the place where are developed,

    through a Reflection Committee,

    recommendations fostering a convergence of

    positions

Africa at the Htel de lIndustrieAn ideal gathering place

Too often ignored, the voice of African nationals has never really echoed during Conferences of Parties onClimate Change.

Since the Earth Summit in Rio, in 1992, the economic, political, diplomatic and environmental challenges

have been transformed by the emergence of Africa, a continent which cannot be overlooked anymore.

In order to make the African voice heard, to discover innovative initiatives from competitive startups, to share

Best Practices developed all over the continent, to gather the entrepreneurs networks, to answer to

international media, to federate creators of wealth, the Planetworkshops organizes, at the heart of Paris, the

    LAB.

    During 9

days the heart of a winning Africa will beat at the Htel de lIndustrie at the core of

    the French capital.

This place specifically dedicated to Africa, for Africans, organized by Africans, will constitute a unique and

original laboratory, complementary to the official negotiations at Le Bourget, and essential to the emergenceof African models, which are still often ignored.

    A place marked by expertise

Important site dedicated to the development of industry, to innovation, to inventions, to entrepreneurship

and to promising artisanal and industrial French skills, the Htel de lIndustrie is built on the Saint-Germain-

des-Prs square, close to the abbey-church.

The Htel de lIndustrie is, with the church and the Deux-Magots caf, one of the most important parts of the

    famous Saint-Germain-des-Prs square.

Head office of the Socit dEncouragement pour lIndustrie Nationale, which built it in 1851, the Htel de

lIndustrie has always been a place dedicated to the encouragement of the French economys modernization

and development;it has also been one of the key places of the political, social, cultural or simply festive life of

the district and of the left bank.

Every year, the building hosts the Chaptal de lIndustrie ceremony, restoring the image of Business Manager,

and the Mongolfier ceremony, aiming to support emerging talents.
