ACTION/SUPERHERO

OUR VISION. • We looked at many Action movies and the one we found most engaging was the movie

Batman.

• Batman begins with two kids playing in the park, running around until the young boy falls into a well. We really liked this idea so we combined this concept with our own idea and implemented it in our opening scene.

• Our idea is similar, however we will have a villain who will attempt to kidnap both the kids while they are in the park. However the villain is not successful as it leaves behind one of the kid only managing to kidnap the other child.

• The next slide shows the example of the beginning of Batman.

LOCATION

• From our research we found out that Action movies often begin with an establishing shot based in the city.

• We are privileged to live in the city of London where there are many beautiful, extraordinary, stunning locations to shoot our opening scenes, such as massive parks and gardens.

OUR CHOSEN LOCATION.We look at various parks however the one that was the most attractive and suitable for our film was Regents park.

VILLAIN. From our research we found that in Action films, often the Villain tend to be a male. This is stereotypically the case as man are associated with violence, aggression and revenge.

However we want to subvert this stereotype by using a female character to play this part.

Our creation of the Villain has traits of being manipulative, patronizing and shrewd.

We were inspired to come up with this concept after watching the warden from film ‘HOLES’. She uses real snake venom as her power to kill and control.

CHARACTERS • Our genre is action/superhero which includes characters who have super

natural powers beyond human agility e.g. superman flies

• From our research we found out that they tend to become stronger after a significant incident occurs which changes the perception of their life.

• Also, they start of as genuine, ordinary guys such as peter parker.

• However, we are limited due to our budget as we cant create a supernatural character

FINAL DECISION. • We saw this character called ‘GREEN ARROW’.

• It inspired because creating that character would be easy its within our budget
