The historic relationship between India and the UnitedStates was very strong.
` One event is the visit of Swami Vivekananda who
introduced Yoga and Vedanta to America.
` His first lecture, which started with this line "Sisters

war, the relationship between the two nations has often
been thorny.

Mr Obama said the relationship between the
United States and India will be "one of the
defining partnerships of the 21st century.
Indian PMManmohan Singh said the twocountries' partnership would be "defining and
indispensable" for the coming decades.
Acc to nuclear deal after 50 years of
isolation, India will have the opportunity to
say something, in world forums like UN,
WTO and World monetary lending
institutions, and be heard.

United States, India's second largest source of FDI. Huge number of people of Indian origin residing in the US. Signing of "India-US Economic Dialogue" by Indian PMAB Vajpayee and
US President Bill Clinton in 2003, aims at deepening the Indo-American
partnership through regular dialogue and engagement. USA covers almost every sector in India, which is open for private
participants. US investor community sharing confidence in the future of the Indian
economy in the areas like infrastructure, IT, etc. The Government of India continuously reviewing its policies in sectors
such as roads, ports and airports. Private sector participation in management, BOT projects, green-field
airports, terminals and shipping berths and capacity augmentation has beeninitiated.
