Lok Biradari Prakalp 2013

What is Lok Biradari Prakalp?

Founded in 1973 by Dr. Prakash and Mandakini Amte.

Located the forest of Hemalkasa village in eastern Maharashtra – Red corridor.

Benefits the primary inhabitants of the area - Madia Gond tribe.

Consists of a hospital, a residential school and an animal orphanage.

Has produced a number of doctors and civil servants, now serving the community.

Involvement of Asha Zurich

Supporting 100 students since 2011.

Yearly funding - CHF 6100 (2013).

Money spent in tuition, food, accomodation, stationaries etc.

Site was visited by Asha volunteers in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
