Companies that Might Publish My Magazine

• One company that might publish Alcoves is Bauer publishing. They are a company that specialises in publishing popular culture magazines, such as FHM and NME.

• http://www.bauermedia.co.uk/• Bauer media is Europe’s largest publishing

corporation. It owns 300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as numerous websites, t.v and radio stations. This includes Kerrang radio, which allows Bauer to claim a monopoly over most of the music industry market

Origins

• Bauer Media is a UK variant of the Bauer corporation.

• It began in 1953 with the launch of Angling times, and went on to support the launch of For Him Magazine (FHM) in 1994.

• Why I think that Bauer Media would be a suitable company to publish my magazine;

Who Would Advertise in My Magazine and Why?

• Being a music magazine, the most frequent form of advertising comes in the form of the managers/record companies advertising gigs for their performances on stage.

• This allows Alcove’s audience to access new, independent bands, so that they can enjoy their music and in turn give the magazine something to report about.

• Another common form of advertising in a music magazine is through the selling of rock-based products suitable for the magazine. An example of this is the Beatles Rock Band video game, published by EA, that appeared in 2009.

• My opinion on why Alcoves needs advertising;

Online Presence

• I think it is important that my magazine should have a significant online presence. This is due to the fact that my target audience covers a relatively young age group, who will be more attracted to the online appeal of the magazine as well as the magazine itself.

Androids

Androids, IPhones, and other portable devices would also be useful for the distribution of Alcoves.They are small, portable, and can store a large amount of data into a small space. This is ideal for people who do not have the time or space to purchase the magazine itself.
