    It is due to inadequate study skills.

    Good study habits are important for success inschool.

    Study skills fosters feeling of competence,develop positive attitude,helps children & laysthe ground work for successful work habits asan adult.

    What you eat can affect yourmood,memory,clarity of thought.

    Food that are slow to digest, divert blood frombrain & reduce mental sharpness.

    Key nutrient ,choline a neurotransmitter,acetylcholine has major role in memory.

    Found infish,meat,egg yolk, Soya product,oatmeal,rice,peanuts.

    Time of day:schedule time when you arealert/productive.

    Grouping :form study group to prepare forexam/test ,alone/small/large group.

    Posture /mobility:formalposture/informal/moving about/long period oftime/frequent breaks.

    Sound :quite /study to music. Lighting :it does make a difference.See your

    learning preferences.

    Temperature : see the preferences for

    cool/warm environment.

    Study skills should be practiced for you to improve.

    Its not enough to think about studying,you have

    actually to do it. Study skills foster feeling of competence and develop

    positive attitudes.

    Teachers &parents should promote good study skills.

    Practice does not make perfect ,perfect practicemakes perfect

    STUDY HABITS

    Begin study no less than 30-90 minutes aftermeal.

    Never study in 30 minutes of going to sleep.

    Prioritize !!make a list of what you intend tostudy.

    If possible ,study no more than 30 to 40 minutes

    at a stretch,take a break after study. In break time ,think about other things.

    In class room to avoid distraction sit in front

    row.

    TIPS FOR REVISION PERIOD

    Leave plenty of time to revise, no last minutecramming.

    It helps to boost your confidence & reduces

    stress. Develop time table,you can track & monitor your

    progress.

    Make sure you allow time for fun &relaxation,to

    avoid burning out. If loosing concentration ,take break.

    Before going to examination hall.

    Avoid : indigestible food,excessiveliquids,stimulants like coca,tea,coffee,late

    dinner,discussion about previous paper.

    Plan: relaxation for the next morning,shortwalk, music,or jogging .

    Attempt: no new revision Eat:light & nutritive food.

    Get in to examination hall 30 minutes before.

    Even if not needed ,go to fresh room beforeeach exam.

    Pray ,stay calm & remain focused.

    Listen to invigilator carefully. Remain positive.
