INTRODUCTIONTata- Tea limited also known as Tata- Tetley.

It is the world’s second largest manufacturer and distributor of Tea.

It is the largest brand in India.

It is largest Tea company in UK and Canada and the second largest in US.

Tata Tea ltd. along with its subsidiary companies manufactures 70 million kg of Tea in India.

In India there are 54 Tea estates, 10 Tea blending and packaging factories ,and employees around 59000 people.

The company owns 51 Tea estates in India and Sri Lanka especially in Assam, West Bengal and kerala.

HISTORY Tata Tea was setup in 1964 through a joint venture with UK based James and the Tata Groups for manufacturing Tea and coffee.

It has distribution network of 25 stockists, catering over 1.7 million retail outlets.

The company has its head quarters in Kolkata.It produces 30 million kg black tea annually.

COMPANY’S HIGHLIGHTS Record market shares in International market.

Domestic brand increases the sales volume.

Operating income Rs 4392 crores increases by 9%

Higher coffee sales in USA – full year of EOC(emergency operational centre)

PAT at Rs 313 crores , increased by 2%.

Strong growth over PY despite price increase.

Sales also increased in the rural markets which enhance promotion.
