Post-colonialism or Post-colonial studies is an academic discipline that analyzes, explains, and responds to the cultural legacy of colonialism and imperialism. Post colonialism speaks about the human consequences of external control and economic exploitation of native people and their lands.

Colonial literature refers to the literature during the period the colonization, written from the perspective of the colonizer.

These stories are usually set in the distant, colonized lands and explore the exotic strangeness of these colonized land.

The main characters in colonial literature are often white the colonized people only play subordinate roles.

post-colonial writers describe native people, places and practices to counteract the inaccurate, generalized stereotypes created by the colonizers.

post-colonial writers chose to write in the language of the colonizer however, most of them deliberately remold the language of reflect the rhythms of indigenous language. They , also invent new words, syntax and styles.

The main difference between colonial and post-colonial literature lies in the time period the literature was created and the perspective of the literary text.

colonial literature refers to the literature that was written during the colonial period before the decolonization. Post-colonial literature was written after the decolonization.

Post-colonial literature is the literature that expresses opposition or resistance to colonization.

Thus, we can say that there are many difference between colonialism. And we can find this difference in all the place like, in definition, perspective, portrayal, and Indigenous people and cultural.
