Maps = Clear Pathways• What our students need
• Clear direction –
the goal, plus specific, incremental steps• Early, consistent communication• Encouragement and support
• What the maps do (and don’t do)• They do: provide a recommended set of courses that will
dependably take a student through a specific NCTC associate’s degree, into and through a specific UNT degree
• They don’t: change the degree plans of NCTC or UNT• They do: provide a tool for student success and closer
institutional collaboration
Maps = Stronger Partnerships
Pathways to stronger partnerships
• Clear, ongoing communication• About opportunities• About challenges• About results
• Celebration of successes
• Continual refinement of the work
• Unshakable commitment to the students
A First Step . . .
. . . of many
• I’m here to celebrate a milestone – the first ‘map’ that clearly connects recommended courses for program to program alignment between NCTC and UNT.
• Not the first collaborative step we’ve taken. But this is a first in a new effort designed around the needs of today’s students… and well worth celebrating.
• We anticipate many more maps to follow – perhaps hundreds – that will provide concise and clear information to students.
