Criteria for shortlisting
Criteria as specified in the advertisement:
• CDA Members must have Grade 12
• And, 6 years’ experience in the area of substance abuse

Background & Context

• 11 September 2020: the Sub-Committee met and shortlisted 39
candidates.
• Additional 7 candidates were nominated who were previously
classified as not meeting the requirements.
• Subsequently the team verified these candidates.
• Overall 25 candidates were nominated more than once.
• Currently, we are siting with 41 candidates. Thus out of the 7, 2
candidates were included in the preliminary shortlist and 5 were
still excluded as they still did not meet the criteria.

Demographic Profile
• 11 September meeting: The Sub-Committee tasked the
support team to compile a report that will indicate the
shortlisted candidates and their demographic information.
• Profile indicates the age, gender, race and qualifications.

• Qualifications ranged from matric to doctorate but the
minimum requirement is matric.
• A number of them have done professional courses.
• All 41 have 6 years’ experience.
