Not enough student computers In our campus plan, our school stated that
we will increase our technology resources.
Since the SBM committee placed this
request into the campus plan teachers have
been provided with presentation carts. Our
campus now has two mobile labs that have
over 40 new lap tops. Our computer lab has
been updated with new technology and we
are now working on getting four e-beams
for the campus. The SBM committee has
stated that upgrading technology is a
ongoing process.
Some teachers don’t feel comfortable
with using technology and it is hard
for them to learn.
Teachers must work with the
technology provided by for the
campus in order to feel
comfortable with it.
Make Teachers aware of the
Technology TEKS and that the
responsibility we have as
educators to ensure we are
teaching our students.
The campus Instructional leader team
will provide on the job support and
continue working with the teacher
until they feel that they can be
successful on their own.
Problem Solution Solution Process
Teachers also feel that it is time
consuming and separate part of
their curriculum.
We must align our curriculum to
the TEKS and then show
teachers how to integrate the
curriculum with the Technology
TEKS.
The campus Instructional
Leader Team will commit to
making at least 2 lessons per
nine weeks as a guide with the
help of grade level teachers that
is aligned to the curriculum and
integrate technology into the
lesson.
Teachers are not effectively
utilizing our data to help drive
instruction.
Teachers must be shown the
benefit of using statistical data
to maximize student growth.
Teachers need ongoing the job
training in the data resources
provided by the district in order
to see their value and utilize
them in an effective way.
GOAL
To get teachers to use technology in an effective way to drive instruction and maximize student learning
Action Plan
Step by Step Process Data Support Time Line: 2years
Introduce all teachers to the Texas Long Range Plan and the Technology TEKS
Upon surveying the teachers man I have spoken to are not aware of the Texas Long Range Plan or the Technology TEKS.
This is an on going process for a campus as new staff members come aboard. This will take place with in the first couple of weeks at the start of each new year.
Instead of hitting teachers with all of our different programs at once, like we have done in the past, we will work together as a campus to integrate one program at a time into our lessons. On the job support and professional development will be provided. The Technology team will go into the classroom to assist teachers with the integration process.
Our STaR chart as been listed at
still developing for the past three
years. The Campus
Improvement Data and the SBM
committee recognize that all
teachers need more in-depth
training on the available
resources.
We will work slowly and a lot
approximately 6 weeks per
program until teachers feel
as if they have mastered and
learned the program. We
will go into the classroom at
least once week to provide
instructional support.
As teachers get use to
integrating technology into
their lesson plans we may
shorten this time frame.
Action Plan
As a campus we will work together to
integrate the Technology TEKS to the
district curriculum for reading, math, and
science.
According the Texas Long Range Plan
technology is not to be viewed as
separate part of teaching. It is to be
effectively integrated into all parts of the
district curriculum and be viewed as a
necessity not an add on.
The Campus Instructional Leader will
initiate a campus Improvement
Technology Committee.
This Committee will be composed of
at least one teacher from each grade
level and subject.
The team will create lessons that
aligned to curriculum by subject and
integrate different forms of technology
into each lesson. The team will meet
twice every nine weeks to and create at
least 2 lessons.
The lessons then will be shared at
grade level meetings for all teachers to
view and implement.
Support for the implementation of
those lessons will be available if a
teacher would like additional support.
Action Plan
The teachers will attend training on
how to effectively use our data
resources such as
DEMAC, INOVA, AEIS etc..
The data states that if schools use
statistical information to identify
strengths and weaknesses then teachers
can better equip students and impact
student learning.
Ongoing
Teacher Using Technology Data Integrating Technology
Will meet monthly in grade level meeting to review technology
•Campus ImprovementPlan efforts•INOVA Data•AEIS ReportsTeachers will show evidence that data is being used to drive instruction and increase student knowledge.
•Teachers will Provide evidence of technology integration (student work, power point presentations, web page updates, and lesson plans)•Teachers will demonstrate knowledge of Technology TEKS and provide evidence that they are being taught through lesson plans, student conferences, and principal walk troughs
