• The children in this organization grow
up in an environment that is within
their own culture. To provide this
particular requirement SOS Children's
Villages are therefore exclusively
allocated by national SOS Children's
Villages Associations, which
coordinate the work The national
associations employ people locally. In
this way, they support local labor
markets and give opportunities to
people in the countries where SOS
Children's Villages are present.
• SOS Children's Villages frequently
provides its family strengthening and
childcare services within existing
social care structures. These are
coordinated by government
departments or existing agencies and
are provided by local, regional or
national social care services.
• Internationally, they cooperate with UN
agencies, the European Union and
Council of Europe, as well as NGO
networks regarding issues that have
an impact on the rights and needs of
the children.
INPUTS (CONTINUED)

supply centers in famine- and drought-
stricken areas.
• In the aftermath of natural disasters,
food packages, medical supplies,
emergency accommodation or building
material for reconstruction are

• Although emergency relief programs
are set up as temporary initially they
can foment facilities long-term help

improve the overall framework
conditions for children whose parents

about changes in policies and
practices that weaken children’s rights.
PROCESS (CONTINUED)
• SOS Children’s Villages is an independent, nongovernmental social development organization.
• Since its founding in 1949, SOS Children’s Villages has expanded to over 500 villages in 133 countries.
• They are currently raising over 80,000 children in their villages and through many education, family strengthening, medical, and outreach programs, they impact the lives of over 1 million people each year.
OUTPUTS
OUTCOMES
• SOS Children's Villages aims to help improve the situation of vulnerable children in many
ways and by working with partners at different levels:
• They make child care, education, and health care available to children and their families
directly.
• They help families and communities to become strong so they can take care of their
children better and organize child care, education and health care.
• They help to improve the policies and practices of the state.
• It is predicted that in 2013 over five
million children will die globally of
preventative causes before reaching
their fifth birthday. Respiratory
diseases, diarrhea and malaria will
significantly contribute to the death
toll.
• Millions suffer lack access to
affordable basic health services.
Preventative health education, though
cost effective, is underutilized in
developing countries.
• The quality of schooling remains low.
Many children, especially girls, are
obliged to contribute to family income,
and drop out of school as a result.
• Global economic crisis has severely
affected parents’ caring and coping
abilities.
• Family poverty has made more
children vulnerable to violence, abuse,
neglect and exploitation. The
psychological cost of poverty is
humiliation, despair, and a sense of
shame and failure.
COMMUNITY NEED
• John could not talk, he had a very big stomach, he had jiggers (parasitic insects that lay eggs under the skin) on his feet, hands, penis and mouth. They had really eaten him up and he was shaking like he had a fever. His house was made of mud which propagatedjiggers.
• By aligning curative and preventative healthcare, governments can save lives. Basic health care must be made available and affordable to all. Donors and governments that allocate more funds to preventative healthcare will see improvements in maternal health. By providing relevant information and training to the poorest communities, health education initiatives can provide a cost effective method of healthcare.

I have a kind disposition and I make sure they feel secure and give them the opportunity to grow as individuals. Currently I help my mom take care of 5 children who live in poverty. We cook for them and help them with their homework. We provide utilities such as computers and printers to help them succeed in their school requirements. I take time to tutor them and listen to them.
• I donate money to different foundations dedicated to help orphans.
