Page 19: Presented by PTD Technology with permission from OCTE

Collect Data Verify Data Input Data Complete Reports

• Practice good data validation techniques. Strive for accuracy, reliability, and timeliness. Record the date when you gather data from your SMS. Follow standard procedures for handling confidential

data.

• Go to the source. Obtain data from the source “closest” to the information

(i.e., ask program instructors for student enrollments).

• Ask questions. Do all course sections appear on my report? Are they

accurate? Are all instructors identified and listed? Are my students receiving the correct segments?

Collect Data Verify Data Input Data Complete Reports

• Use the State Reports menu in CTEIS. Each report has an individual completion page.

• Use validation tools to check your data for errors. Review warnings; understand why they appear. Correct errors using troubleshooting guides or the help

desk.

• Mark your building “complete.” Locks your data and checks the building off your list. Sends your information to your Fiscal Agent for review. Fiscal Agent sends the data to the CEPD Administrator

for final review. CEPD Administrator sends the final report to OCTE.
