THE MOON'S NODES IN THE STRUCTURE & EXPERIENCE OF THE SOUL

The Moon's nodes in the birth chart reflect the polarity between the past and

future in the evolutionary journey of the individual's soul. The themes of the polarity

between the zodiac signs and houses of the Moon's nodes in a birth chart are at

the core of the individual's opportunities, struggles, learning experiences and

overall journey throughout life. The planetary rulers of the moon's nodes, the

zodiac sign and house they are in as well as aspects to other planets further

refines the specific evolutionary dynamics between the past and future, the "story"

of soul's journey of learning and growth. Finally, planets can form aspects to the

Moon's nodes just as they do to other planets which also indicate important

evolutionary dynamics that specify and add to the overall "story" or journey of the

soul throughout life. Putting all of these pieces together a specific and highly

unique evolutionary intention can be assimilated from the information in the birth

chart which can greatly illuminate and shed light upon the questions, struggles,

dynamics and overall exprience any individual soul has of their passage through

life.

The Moon's nodes reflect the natural tension between the past and future, this

tension is like an evolutionary vehicle, mechanism, or pendulum that invites the soul

to explore and discover new ways of relating to itself and the rest of life.

Ultimately evolution is actualized by bringing the polarity between the Moon's

nodes into a healthy and integrated balance.

PLANETS IN ASPECT TO THE MOON'S NODES

The Moon's North Node reflects the evolutionary intentions of the

soul; Where the soul desires to grow and develop in terms of

actualizing its inherent nature and potential.

The Moon's south node reflects the developed personal identification,

the talents and traits developed in the past as well as hang-ups and

blind-spots, the past habits and emotional patterns created from the

soul's evolutionary experience already gathered.

PLANETS IN ASPECT TO THE MOON'S NODES

A planet in aspect to either of the Moon's nodes indicates a specific relationship

already formed with that particular node. Any planet aspecting the Moon's nodes

therefore indicates an evolutionary intention or dynamic already initiated by the

soul in the past that continues to be an important and relevant part of the soul's

overall journey of actualizing its potential.

Whenever any planet is aspecting the Moon's nodes it means it is not the soul's

first time experiencing or involved in the evolutionary intentions and dynamics

reflected in the nodes. There may be momentum already gathered, talents or gifts

coming back, or unresolved dynamics causing developmental issues that need

further exploration and resolution depending on the specific aspect formed

between the planet and node.

Planets square to the Moon's nodes indicate where important overall evolutionary

dynamics are being integrated and potential developmental issues are being

resolved. The astronomical symbolism of planet's squaring the moon's nodes is that

at such points planets are furthest from the plane of the ecliptic. At this point

planets also reach a "turning point" (symbolized by the square aspect) where they

reach their furthest point from the and begin to move back towards the ecliptic.

For this reason planets squaring the Moon's nodes have traditional been called "at

the bends". Similarly the evolutionary intention indicated by a planet squaring the

nodes is to integrate that planet into the rest of the chart.

MODULE FOUR

PLANETS SQUARE TO THE MOON'S NODAL AXIS (CONT'D)

Planet's squaring the nodes puts a developmental stress on the relationship

between the North and South Node that causes a reverberation dynamic between

them. This means that the evolutionary intention reflected in the Moon's nodes,

signs and planetary rulers has already been initiated in the past, but such

developmental stress indicated by the planet square to the nodes has prevented

that evolutionary intention from being completed. So long as a planet squaring

the nodal axis remain unitegrated or unresolved there will be a "back and forth"

along the Moon's nodes and the evolutionary intentions and dynamics will be

unfinished; Having some parts developed and integral aspects missing. The planet

squaring the nodes will be integrated through one node in particular referred to as

the 'resolution node' in order to integrate what was previously missing and resolve

the reverberation dynamic.

A planet squaring the Moon's nodes will be integrated and resolved through the

particular node which it most recently conjoined before the birth of the person.

Bearing in mind that the Moon's nodes move clockwise through the zodiac and all

of the other planets naturally progress counter-clockwise through the zodiac, one

easy way of determining the Moon's nodes is to position yourself as if right on top

of the planet squaring the Moon's nodes looking towards the center of the chart.

From such a perspective the resolution node will always be to the left side.

DETERMINING THE RESOLUTION NODE

MODULE FOUR

DETERMINING THE RESOLUTION NODE (CONT'D)

When the Moon's North Node is the resolution node it indicates that a constant

conscious movement towards the evolutionary intentions of that node is required

in order to recognize and integrate the planet squaring the Moon's nodes in a new

way. The planet squaring the nodes is integrated through a constant forward

moving effort.

When the Moon's South Node is the resolution node it indicates there is a need to

go back, to reflect upon past dynamics, experiences, stories or identities formed,

to see these dynamics or experiences in a new way that allows for a recognition

of how the developmental stress formed, or why the planet square to the Moon's

nodes became a missing link.

In any case when a planet is square the Moon's nodes it can indicate any number

of evolutionary dynamics. Only by interacting with the individual in some way can

such dynamics be determined.

MODULE FOUR

DETERMINING THE RESOLUTION NODE (CONT'D)

An area that has become a source of developmental stress, where evolutionary

lessons are being uncovered and resolved.

A dynamic, function, requirement or experience that was avoided, bypassed,

ignored or swept under in the past.

A part of the overall makeup and nature of the soul that has become previously

separated or disassociated due to past experiences of trauma or oppression.

Important gifts, qualities and dynamics which have been incredibly developed

but previously put on the "back burner" by the soul or due to the soul's past

circumstances where now a "storehouse" of such qualities, gifts or dynamics

are constantly being brought in to or through the individual.

Potential dynamics reflected in a planet square the Moon's nodes can be:

1.

2.

3.

4.

Each planet forms a unique cycle with each lunar node and can be

interpreted similarly to how a planet forms aspects to other planets. It is possible

for a planet to be in an aspect to just one node, or form two different aspects

with both nodes simultaneously. In any case planets aspecting the nodes will

indicate evolutionary intentions which have been initiated prior to the current

lifetime and which continue to be an important part of the soul’s evolutionary

journey and unfolding. The aspect between the planet and the lunar nodes itself

(the angular  relationship) indicates the specific energetic dynamic between the

planet and the soul’s evolutionary intentions / pull.

Regardless of whether the nature of the aspect is considered tense or harmonious

any planet aspecting the nodes can reflect qualities and gifts developed in the

past as well as areas requiring focus or resolution though the developmental

tension of planets in a ‘hard’ aspect to the nodes will be more pronounced for

better or worse.

EXAMPLE CHART COMPARISON

Amma (the hugging saint) and Vladimir Putin (the head of Russia) were born about

a year apart. Both have their lunar nodes in the same signs and houses, ruled by

planets in the same sign. Noteworthy differences are Amma's Saturn and Neptune

nodal squares vs Putin's Jupiter and Venus nodal squares and Putin's Pluto being

conjunct his Moon's south node.

The visionary artist Alex Gray has Neptune and Mars in Libra squaring his nodal

axis and his Venus and Mercury are trine to his Moon’s South Node and sextile to

his Moon’s North Node.*

EXAMPLE CHART COMPARISON

The American secret surveillance whistle-blower Edward Snowden has Saturn and

Pluto in Libra in his 5th house trine to his Moon’s North Node in Gemini and sextile

his Moon’s South Node in Sagittarius. His Moon in Scorpio is in a sesquisquare to

his Moon’s North Node in Gemini
