Learn to care for different types of children and their parents empathetically, effectively and efficiently. This course will give you practical points on how to treat your little patients well. Indications and applications of a variety of dental materials and procedures in anterior and posterior teeth will be covered, including resin infiltration, pulpotomy procedures and full coverage aesthetic options. Pediatric Dentistry for the General Practitioner is a very practical clinical course. You will be taught new and different materials and techniques, shown the very best that children’s dentistry has to offer, and then DO the procedures in this didactic course. This day will cover many different approaches to pediatric restorative dentistry. You’ve heard it before - treat your kids well and your practice will soar. As Benjamin Franklin so wisely said: “Tell me and I will forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

Carla Cohn, DMDDr. Cohn graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 1991. She then went on to complete a post-graduate internship in Children’s Dentistry at Health Science Centre Children’s Hospital. She entered private practice after graduation and dedicated most of her first decade to working and raising her three sons. She was alarmed at the rampant tooth decay in very young children, despite all of the knowledge and education available on preventing tooth decay. Dr. Cohn wanted to help these children regain their health in a quick and efficient manner and thus began her second decade in practice. The focus of her private practice, at Kid’s Dental, is on prevention. As a dentist, she looks forward to a future in which we can truly see a decline in cavities. Change can only occur through education. Dr. Cohn’s goals for the future are to help educate the community, dental professionals and medical professionals on prevention of tooth decay.
Dr. Cohn has lectured nationally and internationally on risk assessment, prevention, behavior management and restorative treatment options. She evaluates dental materials for the Catapult Group and speaks as a clinician who has observed first hand and dealt directly with everything presented in her courses.
