FROM THE DIRECTOR“When the world has screwed you and crushed you in its fist, when the way you’re treated has got you good and pissed, there’s been one solution since the world began, don’t just sit and take it, Stick it to the Man”

In Mid-August, Florida Rep Education held auditions for the Florida premiere of School of Rock: The Musical. It has been an exciting first for Florida Rep Education to perform a conservatory during the fall season in a two-month rehearsal process, truly exposing our students to a fast-paced regional theatre experience. On September 9th, 2017 Fort Myers was in the

eye of Hurricane Irma. In order to ensure the safety of all involved, we took a two-week hiatus from School of Rock rehearsal. As art imitates life, the students you will see performing on stage did nothing less of “sticking it to the man” to make up for lost rehearsal time. They worked extra hours and pushed themselves as performers because, as always, the show MUST go on.

Tonight I invite you to rant, rave, scream and shout with our performers as each and every one of them colors outside the lines and embraces the power of rock. To all of our future generations, may you continue to create art and may your voices never be silenced. STICK IT TO THE MAN!

- Christina DeCarlo
