The simplicity is what first attracted me to this, how they’ve used gold foiling on black paper has elevated a clean design to a great- er level. Also the folder format itself is interesting as it using a fastening string and uses slots within to keep paper secure. Another interesting use of material and format in order to give simplitic design a new edge and complexity. It’s also worth pointing out who the branded paper sits inside and how I’d like to emulate this with specific module notes sheets within each file.

This format of box would be ideally suited to a clean pres-entation of the folders and also a correlation with the fas-tening method of the folders themselves.
This format of box is actually the same as how I recieve my contact lenses in the post funnily enough. It’s easy to use, opens at the top so gives a nice presentation of contents and shares similarities in form to an actual briefcase.

Bad organisation and analysis of handouts and briefs dur-ing first semester and possibly year of LCA BA Graphic Design.
100% felt they could be better organised.100% found it alot to take in.90% came equipped with a folder.90% make notes in briefing’s.
To create a ‘brief’case which will hold files for each module. It will include information to guide and ease new students into time management and planning. It will provide one place where all paper based module information can be contained within one space designed specifically for that purpose.
1. Affects and reduces productivity.2. Becomes bad working practice. 3. Creates stress. 4. Wastes carefully planned information.5. Wastes precious time.
It’s interesting that 100% felt they could be better organ-ised when the majority took notes and owned folders.
- Paper organisation is obviously a common life problem.- It’s better to have everything together than spread out over multiple sources.- ‘action’ and ‘reference’ can be applied to documents to help catergorise information. - Giving paper tages such as ‘to do’ or ‘to read’ can help increase productivity.

Each module is contained within it’s own ‘file’ meaning the briefcase will contain 6 in all.
The back of each module folder will contain a year calender starting from september and a selection of stickers in order to indicate hand in dates, task deadlines etc.
Note page which allows organisation of tasks. Headed with each module number.
Definition of terms you might not understand on the briefs. Possibly on inside lid of ‘briefcase’.
Net of ‘brief’case can be folded out into a poster.
