Pune District Education Association,Pune (P.D.E.A.) is well known educationalsociety founded by the dedicated team of socialreformers, lead by Ex-Chief officer of Z.P. Pune,late Shri. Baburaoji Gholap and has a standingof over 63 years in the field of education. Theyear 2003-04 was the birth centennary year ofour founder secretary. We are proud to mentionthat P.D.E.A. has received the prestigious, "BestEducational Institute Award" from theGovernment of Maharashtra for the remarkableachievements in the field of education andsocial work, on 5th September 2000.

The association runs different brancheslike Pre-Primary Schools (Marathi and EnglishMedium)-11, Primary Schools-12, SecondarySchools-61, Higher Secondary Schools-31,Vocational Courses-25, Senior Colleges(Multifaculty)-08, Ayurved College and ResearchCenter-01, Pharmacy Colleges-03, College ofArchitecture -01, Management Institutes-03,Polytechnic Institutes-01, Engineering College-01, Law College-01 and D. Ed. College-01.

The association has made up its leewaysince 1941. In the year of 1983, a young,dynamic, intellectual, educationist and well

known political leader Prof. Ramkrishna More(Ex-Minister School Education, Sports andYouth Welfare and Cultural activity -Government of Maharashtra) took the chargeof P.D.E.A. as "President". During his tenure,Prof. Ramkrishna More has accelerated theactivities of "P.D.E.A." with an objective ofcontributing to the intellectual and socialtransformations in different areas likeeducational, social and cultural. All the Institutesof P.D.E.A. have made remarkable progressin the field of education under his ableleadership.

In the year 2006, Inspirer-Visionary-Many more years of success in all ways of life-Young & dynamic wishing leader, HonorableAjit Pawar Dy. Chief Minister, Maharashtra(Finance Planing & Energy Minister, GuardianMinister, Pune) took the charge as "President"of P.D.E.A. by legacy. He is inspiring inner andspiritual strength of P.D.E.A. family viz. Lifemembers, Employees and Students. All thebranches of P.D.E.A. are now taking a globalspeed towards the destination.

The vision statement suggests that, to stay inan endeavor towards nurturing our students who comefrom mass community by imparting world classdiversified advanced education, knowledge, wisdomand inclulcating timeless values, thereby empoweringthem to stand up proudly in the competitive world.Objectives :The following objectives will help students of theinstitution to become a successful human being.* To empower the students through modern learningtechniques and participation in curricular, co-curricularand extension activities.* To motivate the students in developing their hiddenpotential* To develop research culture along the faculty andstudents.* To bring awareness and dignity of self-reliance in thestudents.

Mamasaheb Mohol College, Pune - 38 wasestablished in the year 1984-85. The college is havingits own spacious, well furnished and well equippedbuilding (classrooms, laboratories, library, administrativeblock. etc.) The college has many distinguishedteachers with reference to academic, sports, NSS,Student Welfare activi ty and other personalachievements.

We have 38 teachers in which 14 have Ph.D.degree and 13 have M.Phil degree, 11 have SET-NETnd are actively engaged in continuous researchactivities.

The college and management have put in theirsincere efforts to introduce traditional courses of UGand PG level, with their specializations and newcourses to maintain pace with time by introducingdifferent courses in the field of computers andinformation technology.

For benefit of students, we have started 04 PGcourses, affiliated to the University of Pune andrecognised by the Government of Maharashtra.

After successful completion of UGC norms, thecollege has received 2(f) and 12(b) status from UGC,New Delhi. Immediately after this, college has availedthe financial assistance from UGC under the variousschemes during 9th, 10th,11th and 12th plan period.

students who obtain a total Credit 64 out of 100credits. ( Average credit per semester 16)

* One credit will be equivalent to 15 clock hoursof teacher student contact per semester

Both shall have an equal weightage of 50% each.* An insemester assessment of 50% marks

As the Research Project is based on the self-study done by the candidate and evaluated for 100 marksaltogether, having four credits. The project may beevaluated by two examiners one internal and oneexternal, selected from the panel of PG examiners ofthe University. The Viva voce must be conducted bythe teachers selected out of the panel of PG examinersmaintained by the University.

The candidates have to submit the project 15days before the commencement of the fourth semesteruniversity examination. The project report shall be type-written and submitted in duplicate. A candidate who failsto submit the project may resubmit the same in thesubsequent semester examination for evaluation. Theproject work activities must be duly supported bydocumentary evidence to be endorsed by the Head orGuide.Standard of passing:A candidate shall be declared to have passed in thepaper provided he/she has secured minimum GP of4.5 in the UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION and GRADE POINTAVERAGE of 4.0 in aggregate of UNIVERSITY GRADEand INTERNAL ASSESSMENT taken together.Classification of successful candidates:

Candidates who secured not less than 60% ofaggregate marks (INTERNAL ASSESSMENT+UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION ) in the whole examinationshall be declared to have passed the examination inthe first class. All other successful candidates shall bedeclared to have passed in second class. Candidateswho obtain 70% of the marks in the aggregate (INTERNALASSESSMENT +UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION) shall bedeemed to have passed the examination in first classwith distinction.

A student who passes in all the courses will bedeclared to have passed the M.Com. degree with thefollowing honors.CGPA in (4.00, 4.99) - Pass ClassCGPA in (5.00, 5.49) - Second ClassCGPA in (5.50, 5.99) - Higher Second ClassCGPA in (6.00, 7.99) - First ClassCGPA in (8.00, 10,00) - First Class with

Sixty (60) hours of teaching will lead to four credits(which mean four hours per week teaching in onesemester) and long term paper as well as presentationwill carry one credit. Each semester shall offer 16 creditsor more.Grade Points Scheme:

The term grading system indicates a 10 – points scaleof evaluation of the performance of students in termsof marks obtained in the Internal and ExternalExamination, grade points and letter grade. The totalperformance within a semester and continuousperformance starting from the first semester areindicated respectively by Grade Point Average (GPA)and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).Candidates who pass all the examinations prescribedfor the course in the first appearance itself alone areeligible for Ranking.Standard of Passing.Regular students: - A candidate is required to obtain40% marks in each of course in both Mid Semestersand Semester end. Students migrating from other universities/boards either from the state of Maharashtra or fromout side Maharashtra state will be admitted to thecollege on production of an Eligibility Certificate (ora provisional admission certificate, pending issuingof the final Eligibility Certificate) from the Universityof Pune.

1) Students must observe strict discipline in the college premises / campus and should not disturbthe College / teaching & administration in any manner whatsoever.

2) Students should take proper care of the college property, and help in keeping the premises clean,neat and tidy. Any damage, whatsoever done will be treated as a serious breach of discipline andthe cost of the damage(s) will be recovered from students.

3) No Society or Association shall be formed by the students in the College and no person should beinvited to attend and address any meeting without prior permission of the PRINCIPAL.

4) Students should be regular and punctual in attending their lectures, practicals, tutorials and tests.Students should refrain from remaining absent, however if a student desires to remain absent forany genuine reason(s) prior permission of the Principal / H.O.D. should be taken.

5) Students should not loitre about and sit bear class rooms, laboratories, in varandahs, stair case,cycle stand and play ground, that may cause disturbance to the periods / classes which are goingon. They should either go to the library or leave the college premises, in case there are no lecturesor practicals.

6) Smoking is strictly prohibited in college campus.7) Annual Social Gathering and any similar programmes / functions which are likely to disrupt

the academic atmosphere on the college campus shall not be permitted.8) Students should note that smoking, tobacco chewing, spitting etc. is strictly prohibited in the college

campus.9) Any one found indulging in any ragging within or outside the college shall be instantly expelled from

Govt. Scholarships and Concession

Various scholarships like the Govt.of IndiaNational Scholarships are awarded on the basis ofmerit at the S.S.C./H.S.C. examination. Scholarships& Freeships granted by the state govt. like theB.C.,E.B.C. are available to deserving students ofthe college on fulfillment of the govt. conditions inthis regards.

Freeships to wards of Primary, Secondary &Higher Secondary teachers, freedom fighters,Ex-Servicemen and scholarships/freeshipsconcessions are available to wards of on fulfillmentof the conditions in this regards. These conditionswill be notified on the college notice board.

A student belonging to economicallybackward class will be admitted to the college F.Y.,S.Y., T.Y. classes on payments of caution money,laboratory deposit (in case of Science student), librarydeposit & other miscellaneous fees.

The tuition fee will be refunded to a F.Y.student after E.B.C. freeship is sanctioned by theGovt. & after the amount of fees is received by thecollege. The student then need not pay further tuitionfees if his/her income or about any condition of theward.

For this purpose the guardian of theconcerned student will have to give a declaration,that the student belongs to the economicallybackward class category. Scheduled Caste &Scheduled Tribes student will however be admittedonly on the payment of caution money, laboratorydeposits (In case of Science student) library deposits& other non refundable fees after producing thenecessary certificate of caste.

The E.B.C. freeships like other feeconcessions, scholarships etc. are subject to goodconduct, regular attendance & satisfactory progress.Failure to satisfy these conditions will result inforfeiture of the E.B.C. freeship & student will haveto pay the college fees entirely of him/her self.

Govt. Post S.S.C. Scholarships to B.C.

Students : (S.C./S.T./V.J.N.T/O.B.C./S.B.C.)

The scheme of grant of Government of IndiaScholarship for the Backward Class student/Scheduled Caste / Nomadic Tribes/ Vimukta jaties /Nav Buddhas & Scheduled Tribes outside specifiedarea for the post S.S.C. courses is implemented bythe Special Divisional Social Welfare office, Pune. Allthe backward class students undertaking approvedpost S.S.C./H.S.C. courses are considered eligiblefor the Government of India scholarships subject tothe Rules & Regulations of the Scheme.

Only those candidates who belong to (S.C./S.T./V.J.N.T/O.B.C./S.B.C.) as specified in relation tothe State / Union Territory i.e. are permanently settled& those who have passed the matriculation or highersecondary or any other examination of a recognizedUniversity or Board of Secondary education will beheld eligible.

Conditions of Eligibility :

i) Candidates who are studying in the stream ofeducation in a different subject will not beeligible.

ii) Candidates who have completed theireducational career in one profession line likeL.L.B., B.Ed. will not be eligible.

Govt. Scholarships and Concession

iii) Students studying in class XI of highersecondary school courses of the multipurposeHigh School will not be eligible being continuousSchool courses. However, in case where 10thclass examination of such courses is treated asequivalent to S.S.C. and students who afterpassing 10th class join other courses, suchstudents will be treated as post S.S.C. students& will be eligible for the award of scholarships.

iv) Candidates who after failing or passing theundergraduate, graduate, post graduateexamination in Arts / Science / Commerce joinany recognized professional or technicalcertificate/ diploma/degree course will beawarded scholarships, if otherwise foundeligible. No subsequent failure will becondemned & no further change in the coursewill be allowed.

v) Students who are in full time employment willnot be eligible for scholarship.

vi) Only two children of the same parents/ guardianwill be entitled to receive scholarship.

vi) A scholarship holder under this scheme will nothold for any other scholarship/stipend/freeship.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF FORMFOR GOVT. OF INDIA SCHOLARSHIP

All Backward Class students and studentscoming under the lower income group categoryshould apply for the Government of India Scholarship

in the prescribed form through their respectivecollege in the month of July only. The application formwill be made available to them at the time of theiradmission. All the students should be vigilant enoughto fill in the form, complete, in all respects as anyincorrect, false information is act to disqualify themfor the above Scholarship. The students having agap in their education should invariably file a courtaffidavit declaring as to what they were doing duringintervening period.

The students in M.A. Part I / M.Com Part I /will be treated as fresh candidates for the purposeof scholarship and as such they are required to applyof scholarship in them prescribed fresh applicationforms. The Students who were in receipt ofGovernment of India scholarship last year and havepassed the annual examination are also required tofill in the prescribed renewal application forms.

General Conditions

1. The other fees if any is prescribed by the StateGovernment : For aided and unaidedProfessional and Non-Professional Coursesfrom time to time will supersede the feesprescribed for such courses in the ordinance(s). The college / Institution / UniversityDepartment / Centre / School will charge feesprescribed by the state government.

2. A demand draft of Registration Fee,Development Fee, Computer Fee, StudentWelfare Fund and any other fee in which theUniversity has a share shall be remitted to theUniversity by the College / Institute on or before31st October or within one month from the lastdate of admission whichever is later. Theresult of the students or concerned collegemay be kept in reserve till the whole of theamount is received.

3. The examination fee for M.Phil/Ph.D. Thesis andDissertation will be paid by the student to theUniversity through the College / Institute.

4. Development Fees is to be charged from thestudents only in case of degree / diploma (UG/PG), if the course is of one year or more thanone year duration development Fee is not to becharged for Certificate course (s).

5. The development Fee and other Feesprescribed is the ceiling for such fees to becharged by the College /Institute/UniversityDepartment/ Center/ School provided it does

not lead to unfair competition and violate theprovisions of Maharashtra Universities Act 1994.

6. University Examination Fee, Library Fee etc.for Degree, Master's the University under therespective faculties will be the same as isprescribed in the Ordinance (s) unlessotherwise specified by the University / StateGovernment / Competent Authority.

7. Wherever Library, Development and other feesare prescribed by the State Government, theCollege / Institute / University Department /Center / School, shall charge only those feesand not fees Prescribed by the University exceptfees which are to be shared with the University.

8. The Vice-Chancellor shall be the competentauthority to interpret these Ordinances Rulesconcerning all types of fees and charge. In casethere is any dispute regarding interpretation ofthese Rules regarding the amount of fees to bepaid, the Vice-Chancellor shall interpret theprovisions of these Rules and his decision shallbe final.

9. If any difficulty arises in giving effect to theprovisions of Ordinances / Rules concerningfees and charges, the Vice - Chancellor maybe order, issue necessary directions notinconsistent with the objects and purpose ofthese Rules which appear to be necessary orexpedient for the purpode of removing thedifficulty.

ADMISSION AND ELIGIBLITY :1. An application for admission to the college will

have to be made on a online printed applicationform by all students (including those who werein this college during the previous year.)

2. It should be noted that the payment of the feesby itself does not confirm admission to thecollege. The fees are treated as a deposit andwill be refunded (with deduction as per the rulesin that behalf) if admission is nit granted.

3. The admission is valid only if the student paysthe prescribed fees on the day the authoritiessign the admission form.

4. The students who wish to a avail themselvesof the government concession for fees underEconomically Backward Class scheme shouldfill up within one week from the date ofadmission, the prescribed application form andapplication forms are available in the collegeoffice.

5. A student applying for F.Y.B.A./B.Com./B.B.A.(C.A.) / B.Sc. (Comp. Sci.) Class afterpassing the H.S.C. examination of MaharashtraState Board of Secondary and HigherSecondary Education will have to apply throughthe college to the Registrar, Universty of Punefor the Eligibility Certificate.

8. A student coming from a University other thanthe University of Pune for S.Y./T.Y.B.A. or S.Y./T.Y. B.Com./ M.Com. or S.Y.T.Y. B.Sc. andM.Sc. will have to submit certificate mentionedat No. 6 along with the Eligibility Application format the college office.

9. The Foreign students applying for admissionto any class of the degree college shouldcontact the "Foreign Students Advisor" fornecessary information. Admission will begranted to them only after they fulfill the rulesans regulations of the University of Pune andafter getting the final approval from the ForeignStudents Advisor. 1. Cancellation of admission before thecommencement of the couse - It is resolved that thecourses which come under the jurisdiction of DTE,Scheme of refund of fees should be as follows :

Cancelation charges and Refund of Tuition,Development and other fees for the admissions securedthrough CAP : The candidate who has been provisionallyadmitted through CAP may cancel admission bysubmitting an application in duplicate, and may requestfor refund of fees. The cancellation chargess and refund of

fees as applicable shall be made in due course by therespective institute. It is made clear that such applicationfor cancellation will be considered if and only if theadmission is taken provisionally through CAP by payingthe prescribed tuition fee in full and by submitting originaldocuments as mentioned in these rules. Refund of tutionfees and other fee to be made after deduction of thecancellation charges after allotment after EACH ROUNDOF ALLOTMENT / ADMISSION is as shown belw :

2. For the courses which do not come under thejurisdiction of DTE e.g. B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., M.A.,M.Com., M.Sc., LL.B., L.L.M. etc. - Cancellation ofadmision before the commencement of courses ofthe relevant academic year as per the notificationissued by UGC, New Delhi dated 23rd April, 2007.

For the candidates who cancel their admisions before

starting the course for the relevant academic year. Hisentire fee after deduction of processing fee of not morethan Rs. 1000/- shall be refunded to the student by theUniversity/concerned Instituion.

If the student cancel his admission after the courseis started following scheme will be adopted for refund oftotal fees :

It is hereby notified for information of all concerned that in view of the Judgement and Order dated11.2.2009 of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the matter of the University of Kerala V/s the Council OfPrincipals of College in Kerala and Others, the following measures shall be taken to prevent raging in theColleges / Institutions.1. In the prospectus of the Higher Educational Institutions, it should be mentioned that if any incident of

ragging comes to the notice of the authority concerned, the accused student will be given anopportunity to explain and if his explanation is not satisfactory, the authority would expel him from theinstitution. The number of cases of ragging and punishment given by the educational institutions in theprevious academic year should also be incorporated in the prospectus of Higher Educational Institutions.

2. Anti ragging committees and squads to check ragging should be constituted and the names and telephonenumbers of officials to be contacted by the students in case of ragging, should also be published.

3. Counseling sessions and orientation courses for senior and fresh students should be conducted.4. All institutions should do whatever they can by ensuring punishment to the students found guilty of ragging,

giving wide publicity to such punishments to act as a deterrent, strict enforcement of the various measuresfor preventing ragging.

5. Appropriate messages regarding "zero tolerance" towards ragging should be incorporated in admissionnotices /advertisements.

6. Audio-Video campaign should be undertaken at the commencement of the new academic session toprevent ragging.

7. Efforts to publicize and sensitize students regarding the menance of ragging should be made.8. Awareness amongst students through student unions about the bad effects of ragging should be generated.9. In appropriate cases, If the authorities are prima facie satisfied about the errant act of any student, they

can suspend the student from the Institution and the hostel, if any, pending final decision and givenopportunity to him to have his say. The police should be informed immediately and criminal law shouldbe set into motion.

It is further notified that the Colleges / Institutions shall submit report to the Director, Students ' Welfareof the University, every six months, regarding implementation of the measures taken by them to preventragging.
