1 Member of General Federation of Women Clubs & California Federation of Women’s Club SAN BUENAVENTURA WOMEN’S CLUB MEETS 2nd TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH Poinsettia Pavilion 3451 Foothill Road Ventura, CA 93003 Editor: Carla Kincaid email: [email protected] Information Deadline: 20th each month May 2019 Well, here we are on the cusp of summer. For me, the relatively cool and wet win- ter was a nice change. This spring like weather in the 60s and low 70s is what I re- ally enjoy. My front garden is looking lovely with a mix of California poppies and Sweet Peas which are all volunteers this year. Our Club year is almost over and as Club Women we have been busy collecting shoes, bras and making blankets for the homeless people and also the homeless pets awaiting their forever parents at the animal shelter. If you have time to make blankets over the summer, contact myself or Janet Flickinger after the end of May. A group of members have been out buying clothes for each of the children at City Center. I thank them for all their work, matching each name and age with clothing that is very much needed. The clothing is scheduled to be delivered on Friday April 19th. Unfortunately I will miss the May General meeting. I hope you all have a good summer and continue to play Canasta, Bridge, Bunco and attend Fun- Dough during the summer break. PRESIDENT, ROSEMARY WILDE 2018-2020 FROM THE EDITOR-You are receiving this newsletter early due to my vacation plans. Please remember that after this newsletter there is limited newsletters during the summer break. Will be back with a full Buena Brief’s in time for the September meeting. Happy summer everyone.
