First, thank you Gloria Clawson, WBA Board Member and owner of Kids 'N Kribs, for proposing and following through on the idea. Gloria has been organizing the whole thing to make this weekly event work. Thanks too to Deanna Doane, WBA Vice President and Owner of Click Canyon, for all the work on social media and to Mike Libert, WBA Board Member and Owner of Main Line Print Shop, Bridget Libert, and Alanna Clunen of Main Line Print Shop for getting the design work and printing done. Wayne Open Late is more than a retail promotion. The main goals of the program are to drive/attract overall additional consumers to Wayne to increase revenue for local merchants and to market/create excitement of Wayne as a destination town (shop, dine, stay, indulge). The 18-month program is centered around the "Late Night Thursdays" concept where merchants stay open till 8pm once a week (most restaurants remain open as usual till after 8pm). This committee-led initiative include additional marketing tactics to drive traffic (from outside Wayne) to Wayne, as well as online and offline promotion of the program's activities and events. WOL started mid-August and 6 weeks later the first theme night happened with huge success. Wayne was packed with Trick and/or Treaters. I thought free wine was the only catch attraction to get folks in – turns out, free sugar works as well!! Retailers went all out, a treat bowl of various in store discounts at Coco Blu, Song for Seeds performed at Bella Donna, costume contest at Main Point Books, and Mr. and Mrs. Incredible ran over from Young Sports to hand out candy at Kids 'N Kribs. Over at Louella, NEW MEMBER ALERT! they were handing out free BonBon earrings, which I heard were delicious. Can't leave out Renewal who transformed their showroom into a haunted house!! There were 25 retailers open for business and participating. One incentive that is helping drive traffic to the stores on Thursday’s is the WBA $5 reward card. Participating retailers are able to hand out $5 reward cards with $30+ purchase between 5 and 8pm on Thursday’s. The WBA $5 reward cards can then be used at another participating store business in the WBOD at any time. This incentive ends on November 25th – Small Business Saturday. We are still accepting sponsorships for our Christmas in Wayne Event happening December 1st. Expose your business to the community at this very popular event. Started in August 2017, the Wayne Business Association is proud to continue to sponsor its 'Wayne Open Late' program. The goal has been to market and create excitement about Wayne as a destination town for visitors and consumers to shop, dine, stay, indulge, and engage services. As part of the program, participating non-restaurant merchants have been staying open till 8pm every Thursday.
The initiative includes many interesting features each week, such as sidewalk sales, music and other entertainment performances, wine and dine tastings, themed weeks, and much more! The latest news about this program that supports the 'shop-local' concept will be published in offline print displays and online updates such as on social media and the WBA website.

Each year brings events for all of our busy non-profits in the Wayne Community! We started to compile a list of sponsor opportunities for 2018 for WBA members to review and find causes their businesses would be interested in supporting. For our non-profits, if you would like to send us your information, we will be adding a page to our website with this list.
DMAX Foundation – Supporting the Conversation about Mental HealthLooking for sponsors for Bryn Mawr based DMAX Foundation's annual educational event in Spring 2018. Last year keynote speaker and Retired Sgt. Kevin Briggs talked about how he saved over 200 people from jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. DMAX is starting mental health related social clubs on college campuses fir students to talk to each about how they are doing and help each other.

Carol H. Axelrod Blood DriveThe Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive hosts four large-scale blood drives each year, including one in Wayne every May, with the mission of ensuring that blood products are always available for those who need them and a goal of helping our blood donors have an enjoyable and positive donation experience. To that end, we appreciate the support of sponsors who can provide food for our refreshment table or items for the prize drawing that our blood donors are invited to enter. Our blood drive in Wayne will take place on May 8, 2018; information about our work and our other 2018 blood drive dates can be found at www.chablooddrive.org.
St. Luke’s Lutheran ChurchThis year's St. Patrick's Day Party will be on March 17th, 2018, St. Patrick's Day itself, at St. Luke, 203 N. Valley Forge Road, Devon. We have dinner, drinks (beer and wine), raffles, and dancing with local band "Cool Confusion". We welcome local business donations for raffle - valued anywhere from $25 and up. Anyone wishing to donate a prize can contact me at this address. All money raised will support volunteers going on the ASP and Houston Youth Gathering trips.

Women’s Resource CenterJoin WRC on April 20, 2018 for our 12th Annual Leadership Luncheon to celebrate women who are leading the way in helping other women, girls and families. Over the past 7 years, the Leadership Luncheon has raised more than $630,000 for programs and services that directly impact women and girls in need.
The Saturday ClubThe Saturday Club is holding its third annual "The Saturday Club Shuffle 5K & Kids Race" on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 8:30am. This popular Main Line Event is a fun morning out for the whole family, featuring a 5K and 1/2 mile Kids Race on a USA Track & Field Certified course through Wayne's beautiful downtown business district and historic residential neighborhoods.

She is survived by her three sons Robert M. DiOrio, Esq.; Carl J. DiOrio; and Stephen J. DiOrio, her devoted daughters-in-law Susan DiOrio and Bianka DiOrio, her six grandchildren, her six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
