This latest edition of Première Vision Pluriel marks a new step in the history of professional fashion fairs. For the first time all six of the Parisian events targeting international fashion professionals are wholly managed by one and the same organiser: Première Vision. With the purchase last February of Cuir à Paris - the show specialised in leather and fur - the leading group in the upstream fashion and textile sector has integrated a new business activity. Most importantly, it combines two industries - textiles and leather - often considered completely foreign, even impervious, to one another, in the aim of providing an integrated offer to the creative fashion sector.

Looking more closely, and in light of changes in the sector and in brands’ behaviour, it seems both logical and legitimate for such an integration to take place today. For some fifteen years, brands have been taking not only a more global and diversified approach to their offer, but also a more integrated and coherent approach to their image and distribution.

Today, a fashion brand often integrates its ready-to-wear collections with one of more lines of accessories, leather goods and/or shoes. These lines are growing, playing an important role as tools for communication and distribution – to attract ready-to-wear clients through accessories – and, particularly in the luxury sector, often represent the largest share of turnover. It’s a sector that now plays a major role in the fashion economy. On their side, accessory, leather goods and shoe brands have also invited textiles into their collections, and adopted the language of fashion to entice their customers, build their image and reinforce their identity.

In the end, boundaries are fading, needs are merging, and collections are coordinating. Clothing is no longer the only vector of fashion. Accessories – leather goods and shoes – are also becoming seasonal products whose design and manufacturing rhythms are coming closer to those of fashion. For the last few years, the calendars of the two industries have moved closer in a spectacular way. What might have seemed a wild gamble in 2005, when Cuir à Paris arrived alongside the Première Vision shows (advancing nearly two months in terms of the leather industry), now sets the pace for the entire international calendar for the industry. The truly global approach of different segments within one and the same brand demands ever more coherence: coherence in the approach to materials, colours, styles…In order to be more efficient, and in the best interest of brands, it now seems paramount to coordinate the marketing tools of the various supply industries.

Inspired by the evolution of brands that now define themselves through a complete and globalized universe in terms of products and image, Première Vision has adapted its own evolution and strategy in response to the new parameters - a strategy of global service to brands exemplified by the integration of Cuir à Paris and the growing proximity of business activities and industries that mutually complement and enrich one another.

BRINGING TOGETHER PROFESSIONS AND INDUSTRIES TO SERVE EVER MORE GLOBALIZED AND INTEGRATED BRANDS

In September, Première Vision takes a new step and marks a real turning point in its evolution. For all 6 Première Vision Pluriel shows, a new edition rich in strengthened synergies and marked by development is set to take place.

For the first time since its founding in 2005, and following the acquisition of Cuir à Paris announced last February, and ZOOM in September 2013, Première Vision Pluriel is now managed entirely by a single organiser: Première Vision. A world first for the sector!

Thanks to a unique, consolidated and now fully integrated organisation allowing it to meet the expectations of ever more demanding industry professionals, and after having welcomed 63,000 visitors in September 2013, and nearly 62,000 last February, Première Vision is now the leading event for all key international fashion players.

A FULL INTEGRATION. AN OPTIMISED GLOBAL STRATEGY

Exhibitors - spinners, weavers, trimmings makers, design studios, tanners, garment manufacturers - and visitors - buyers, accessory and fashion brand designers and heads of fashion companies - all expect increased efficiency and productivity from a show: the first, to gain in visibility and develop solid business relationships; the second, to find inspiration and innovative collections to make their products stand out. This, every season, is the aim of each of the Première Vision Pluriel shows. A goal that reaches full expression with the total integration of the six shows under the banner of Première Vision.

Thanks to a by-now global and transversal strategy, and better co-ordinated and targeted operations serving each of the shows, today Première Vision can optimise its means and investments, increase its synergies and strengthen its activities to improve efficiency and coherency, while continuing to enhance and preserve each activity with its own differences and specificities, within one single and seamless event.

For each show - particularly Cuir à Paris - and for all exhibitors, the new integration of Première Vision Pluriel allows them to benefit from increased international visibility thanks to more freedom of action, and harmonised inter-show communications.

SHOWS ON THE MOVE: ZOOM NOW IN HALL 6

ZOOM, the show of fashion manufacturing specialists from the Euromed zone, is undergoing a major change this season, leaving Hall 2 and moving to the northeast of Hall 6. This is one of the concrete expressions of the total integration of Première Vision Pluriel. The aim? To gain in coherency and provide a clearer reading of the offer.

With this reorganization, ZOOM manufacturers play on the synergy between activity sectors. The show’s fashion manufacturers are moving closer to the Première Vision weavers. Meantime, some 20 knitters present at ZOOM are now integrated into the Knitwear Solutions platform dedicated to creative flatbed knits.

AN EVOLVING AND DIVERSE OFFER AT THE FOREFRONT OF CREATIVE TRENDS

In all, an international and cutting-edge selection of 51 exhibitors from 12 of the leading countries in the industry is proposed this season (see graph, below):

• 5 spinners from among the sector’s leaders, specialised in cashmere, wool or cotton; • 1 maker of machines and machine technology from japan;• 2 organisations dedicated to promoting knit know-how from Morocco and Mauritius.

Their offer includes products in a range of natural materials - exclusive noble fibres (alpaca, lama, etc.) classics (cashmere), fine wools, cotton, etc. - and styles - fancy knits, plays on jacquard stitches and complex intarsias, large to extra-fine gauges, original prints, mixes of materials, refined finishings and more.

Among the exhibitors, 19 knitters rigorously chosen by a Selection Committee of international industry professionals will present their collections for the first time at Knitwear Solutions. They come from France (1), Italy (2), Portugal (1), Romania (6), Morocco (4), Mauritius (2), Bulgaria (1), Lithuania (1) and Hong Kong (1).

Joining them are 14 knit-specialist studios with a complementary offer at Indigo, the creative textile and surface design show in the North of Hall 5, which will be presenting development ideas in terms of trends for knits, stitches and shapes.

Altogether this season, 65 specialists in creative flatbed knits will present their collections for autumn winter 2015-16 along with their know-how and technologies. They will round out the Première Vision textile offer by providing global product answers to visitors to the 6 Première Vision Pluriel shows, presenting concrete solutions to designers, product heads and buyers specialised in flatbed knits, nearly 3,300 of whom attended the show last February.

KNITWEAR SOLUTIONS, AN AREA OF INSPIRATION AND CREATIVE TRENDS# SCULPTURAL KNIT

To underline the creativity of the flatbed knit sector, and accompany buyers in their product development, Première Vision has once again collaborated with knit designer Xavier Brisoux to create specific developments for the fashion information forum at Knitwear Solutions.

At this platform, the Knitwear Focus forum will showcase exhibitors’ know-how and creativity through a selection of specific seasonal products and developments.

For autumn winter 2015-16, texture and volume are at the heart of the forum. In a setting designed for the first time this season by Tulip Santene to set off this particular industry, the season’s Sculptural Knit theme is highlighted thanks to 3D and an installation that seamlessly melds lines in perspective with faceted elements, all worked in texture. The theme is dedicated to creating knit volume, by sculpting silhouettes, shapes, knit stitches and yarns:

• By sculpting volume with dense and substantial knits, and increasing thickness;• By sculpting the body by playing with fullness and tightening, to shape and change

morphology; • By sculpting folds to elaborate multilayer knits;• By sculpting with texture, favouring raised stitches and 3D jacquards to increase knit

volume.

Discover the 19 new knitters at Knitwear Solutions in the attached document.

For the 6th edition of its celebrated PV Awards, Première Vision is betting even more than ever on new, contemporary creation. Because this is the real purpose of this inspiring appointment, by now eagerly awaited by the industry’s weavers and buyers: to single out and distinguish the most remarkable, inventive and innovative fashion textiles from among Première Vision exhibitors’ creations.

In pursuit of this goal, the world’s premier fabrics show brings together, as it does each year in September, a prestigious jury comprised of influential personalities from the international fashion scene. Première Vision is proud to welcome young designer Yiqing Yin as Jury President.

Born in China, a graduate of the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs, Yiqing Yin has lived and worked in Paris, where she has shown her collections during the Haute Couture fashion week since 2011. She was awarded The ANDAM Prize for First Collections in 2011, and since January 2014 has been the Creative Director of the Leonard fashion house.

A deserving representative of the new generation of designers working on the international fashion scene, Yiqing Yin thinks and designs clothing as an evolving structure, like a moving sculpture, influenced and driven by plays on volumes and materials, for an architectural and sensual result..

Her modern and innovative fashion vision was destined to bring the young designer and Première Vision together. The show, as a supporter of young fashion designers and creative innovation, welcomes the chance to collaborate with a young designer who represents the fashion of today, both global and exacting.

As a reminder, prior to Yiqing Yin, PV Awards Jury presidents have been: Veronique Nichanian (Hermès) in 2009, Ennio Capasa (Costume National) in 2010, Roland Mouret (Roland Mouret) in 2011, Felipe Oliveira Baptista (Lacoste) in 2012 and Alessandro Sartori (Berluti) in 2013.

An exceptional and emotional moment to be shared by all the textile and fashion industry pros gathered at Première Vision.

MIGUEL CHEVALIER, FRACTAL FLOWERS, AN ORIGINAL STEREOLITHOGRAPHY FOR PREMIÈRE VISION

In order to give the PV Awards their full creative dimension, Première Vision has called on French artist Miguel Chevalier. Since 2009 he has created the PV Award Trophies: a concrete expression of his «fractal flowers», made exclusively for Première Vision.

Born in Mexico City in 1959, Miguel Chevalier lives and works in Paris. From technology to nature, biology to poetry, light to materials, he has, since 1978, used information technology as a means of expression in the visual arts. He is internationally known as one of the pioneers of virtual and digital arts. Most recently, his work could be seen on the imposing facade of the Grand Palais, in Paris, during the Art Paris Art Fair show in April 2014.www.miguel-chevalier.com

HYÈRES, NEW YORK, PARIS… EXPOFIL, PREMIÈRE VISION, MODAMONT, ZOOM…THE 29TH HYÈRES FESTIVAL STEPS CENTRE STAGE!Last April, the 29th Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography crowned Kenta Matsushige. With a jury chaired by Kenzo creative directors CAROL LIM and HUMBERTO LEON,the young Japanese designer, a graduate of the Chambre Syndicale school since 2012 who now lives and works in Paris, was awarded the 2014 Première Vision Grand Jury Prize.

A supporter for the past 4 years of the famed festival for young fashion designers, Première Vision, for the second year in a row, awarded the Première Vision Grand Jury Prize, which comes with a 15,000 € prize.

The womenswear collection by Kenta Matsushige, HINABI, is nourished by shifts and offsets, like the artists Walter de Laria and Lee Ufanqui, who exhibit their pieces amongst nature, in particular on Japan’s Naoshima island. «My collections aim to be urban and modern whilst respecting hinabi, pastoral beauty, which is in opposition to miyabi, urban beauty,» explains the designer.

Architectural and poetic, the creations of Kenta Matsushige also came to be thanks to the support of Première Vision. As every year, the 10 finalists were welcomed in February to the Première Vision, Modamont, and Expofil shows where they benefitted from a privileged access to products - yarns, fabrics and trims/accessories - from top international companies. Additionally, in a new development this year, they were welcomed by select exhibitors at ZOOM, the fashion manufacturing show, to help them manufacture their collections.

Eager to present the best quality the textile industry has to offer at its shows, Première Vision aims to showcase reliable companies, rigorously selected for their professionalism, their creative know-how and enhanced expertise.

To answer this demand for quality at all levels of its organisation, Première Vision holds itself to the highest standards, surrounding itself with quality partners.

PREMIÈRE VISION CONTINUES ITS COLLABORATION WITH ATIL KUTOGLU

For 20 years, Atil Kutoglu has been designing flamboyantly creative collections with a precise and delicate elaboration of noble materials like silk, cotton, wool, cashmere and leather, recalling the ubiquity and influence of this Turkish designer’s oriental roots. His mystic universe, where imagination evokes a sublimated reality, his know-how, his love of fine materials and perfect cuts could not help but enchant Première Vision.Première Vision is renewing the collaboration begun last February with Atil Kutoglu. He is creating a complete outfit - from clothing to accessories and shoes - worn by the hostesses at the September edition.
