Cambridge Australia ScholarshipsAwards a number of PhD scholarships to Australian graduates of outstanding academic merit to study at the University of Cambridge.

Recipients are covered for:

•The University Composition Fee• Maintenance Allowance - living expenses sufficient for 1 student• Airfares at the beginning and end of the course

Eligibility:

Bachelor's degree with first-class honours, or a research Master's degree from a recognized Australian university.

Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

How To Apply

• Applications for funding for a CAS scholarship do not require a separate application.

• Apply online using the on-line application portal.

• When applying for admission to the University, you must complete the section regarding applying for funding. Tick the box which states, “I wish to be considered for funding including merit based scholarships”, and complete the relevant sections.

• You will then automatically be considered for funding by CAS if you meet the criteria.

There are >100 Rhodes Scholars elected around the world every year.

They are part of a tradition that started in Australia in 1903.

They join a community of nearly 8000 Rhodes Scholars worldwide.

The Rhodes Scholarships Australia: Can I apply?

1 I am an Australian citizen and have lived in Australia for a least two of the last ten years

2 I completed at least two years of secondary schooling inAustralia

3I will have completed an honours degree or masters degree or international equivalent with a proficiency level of first class honours or an equivalent mark of distinction (masters or international qualification) by 15 June 2019

4I was born after 30 September 1993 and on or before 1 October 2000 (I am at least 19 and less than 26 years old on 1 October 2019)

5 I have not applied for a Rhodes Scholarship two or more times before.

If you are looking at this presentation, either you know, or someone has told you that you are talented.

There is no ‘Rhodes Scholar’, only Rhodes Scholars. We don’t have any particular kind of person, degree or list of achievements in mind.

We want young women and men to tell us about their ‘instincts to lead’

The Rhodes Scholarships Australia: Where do I apply?

Apply in the state or territory in which you are or have completed your most recent degree, or where you did the majority of your schooling.

If you are studying overseas, apply in the state or territory in which you attended secondary school.

If you are studying in the ACT or NT, apply via the Commonwealth Territories panel or in the state where you did the majority of your schooling. Applicants who are shortlisted in the Territories panel proceed to the Australia at Large interviews.

The Rhodes Scholarships Australia: What does the Scholarship Entail?

• All University and College fees• The University application fee• A personal stipend (£13,658

Postgraduate Scholarships – including sponsored scholarships, to undertake U.S. based research towards an Australian Master’s or PhD or to enrol in a postgraduate degree program at a U.S. institution (3 –10 months duration)

Postdoctoral Scholarships – including sponsored scholarships, to undertake postdoctoral research in the U.S. – aimed at applicants who have completed a PhD within the last 5 years (3 –10 months duration)

Professional Scholarships – including sponsored scholarships, for mid-career candidates in the private / public sector, poised for movement to leadership positions, or mid-level academics whose research has industry / professional links. Application proposals must include an educational component, such as research and / or a short-course (3 – 4 months duration)

Senior Scholarships – including sponsored scholarships, for academics at the level of associate or full professor in a range of academic fields to undertake U.S. based research (3 – 4 months duration)

Distinguished Chair – sponsored by Kansas State University, up to six months research at Kansas State University in the field of Agriculture or Life Sciences (3 –6 months duration)
