The first stage is school Olympiads, The second – district ones, The third – state Olympiads. The best students of Latvia participate in state or International subject Olympiads.
Assessment of educational achievements
1st grade knowledge and skills in all subjects are assessed in a descriptive way. 2nd grade Latvian language, minority language and mathematics 10 point scale, other descriptive way.3rd grade Latvian language, minority language, English and mathematics 10 point scale, other descriptive way.Beginning from 4th grade pupils’ achievements in all subject areas are assessed in 10-point scale (1 – 10).
