Chester, icona per eccellenza di Poltrona Frau, e la sua ridefinizione contemporanea, Chester Line. Chester Line conserva l'eleganza impeccabile e le lavorazioni iconiche: il capitonné, le impunture con i bottoni, la voluta del bracciolo. Ma nell'aggiornarsi ai nuovi gesti e modi di vivere la casa, si alleggerisce, si scompone e si moltiplica nelle combinazioni aperte o chiuse.

CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE

Struttura portante. Moduli componibili. In legno massello di faggio stagionato e pioppo con traverse in multistrato di pioppo. Pouf. In legno massello di faggio stagionato e multistrato di pioppo con leggera imbottitura in poliuretano espanso.

Molleggio. Molle biconiche in acciaio legate a mano e fissate a cinghie di juta.

Imbottitura. Schienale e braccioli in crine vegetale modellato a mano e poliuretano espanso. Sedile in crine vegetale stampato. Cuscino seduta in piuma d’oca e poliuretano espanso.

Piedi.- Sferici (6 cm): - Faggio tinto noce scuro (05) - Faggio laccato nero (11)- Alti (12 cm): - Faggio tinto noce scuro (05) - Faggio laccato nero (11)- In legno (13,7 cm) rivestiti in pelle- In alluminio spazzolato brunito (6 cm) con puntali di protezione in plastica

Chester, Poltrona Frau’s icon par excellence, and its contemporary version, the Chester Line. Chester Line maintains the impeccable elegance and iconic workings of its predecessor: the capitonné, stitching with buttons, and spiral on the armrest. But in updating itself to contemporary habits and ways of living the home, it lightens up, breaks up and multiplies in its opened and closed combinations.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Supporting structure. Modular elements. In solid seasoned beech wood and poplar with poplar plywood crosspieces. Ottoman. In solid seasoned beech wood and poplar plywood with light polyurethane foam padding.

Suspension. Biconical hand-tied steel springs fastened to jute belts.

Padding. The backrest and armrests are padded with hand-shaped vegetable horsehair and polyurethane foam. Printed vegetable fibre seat. Polyurethane foam and goose down filled seat cushion.

Feet. - Spherical (6 cm): -Dark walnut stained beech wood (05) - Black lacquered beech wood (11)- High version feet (12 cm): - Dark walnut stained beech wood (05) - Black lacquered beech wood (11)- Wooden feet (13,7 cm) upholstered in leather- Burnished and brushed aluminium (6 cm) with plastic protective caps

Upholstery. Fully upholstered in Pelle Frau® or in a combination of leather and fabric. Removability. Only for the seat parts upholstered in fabric.

Aesthetic details. The external back is fi nished with a row of leather covered tacks. The backrest and armrests of both armchair and sofa, as well as the ottoman, feature a handmade capitonné design. Diff erently from Chester and Chester – One versions, the basement under the seat is smooth and without the capitonné processing.

Dettagli estetici. Una fi la di chiodini rivestiti in pelle rifi nisce il retro. La lavorazione capitonné del manto, di poltrona, divano e pouf, è eseguita interamente a mano. Diversamente dalla versione Chester e Chester – One la base sotto la seduta è liscia e non ha lavorazione capitonné.

Si chiama Times come il celebre font, e ha la stessa economia di segno e incisività di un progetto tipografi co. È il letto nella nuova visione di Poltrona Frau. Una leggerezza elegante, dove nulla è superfl uo e tutto è naturale. E dove ogni elemento comunica il tempo del riposo e del relax. I designer Spalvieri & Del Ciotto si sono ispirati ai principi progettuali del letto Times per dare vita a una seduta senza tempo, dove l’evoluta tecnica costruttiva si unisce a un’estetica contemporanea sobria e pacata.


Struttura. Realizzata in massello di frassino a sezione circolare nelle parti a vista e a sezione ovale per le traverse di collegamento inferiori. Dei feltrini sono posti a protezione del pavimento.

Supporto e fi ssaggio cuscini. Il supporto della cuscinatura è garantito da un mantello in Pelle Frau® che abbraccia la struttura in legno nella parte inferiore, laterale e superiore. I cuscini sono fi ssati alla struttura mediante cerniere lampo a scomparsa e bottoni automatici. La fodera dei cuscini schienale e braccioli è cucita in un unico elemento mentre la fodera del cuscino sedile è singola e agganciata al resto della fodera. .

Rivestimento. Interamente in Pelle Frau® o nell’opzione che abbina pelle e tessuto. It is called Times just like the famous font and has the incisiveness and straightforward style of a typographical project. This bed embodies Poltrona Frau’s new vision. An elegant lightness where nothing is superfl uous and everything natural. And where every element seems to promote rest and relaxation. Designers Spalvieri & Del Ciotto took their inspiration from the design principles of the Times bed to create a timeless seat which combines an advanced construction technique with understated and mellow contemporary aesthetics.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Structure. Made of solid ash wood featuring a circular section in the visible parts and an oval section for the lower crossbeams. Felt pads have been added to protect the fl oor.

Springs. Fixed using a technical fabric located beneath the chair.

Cushions support and fi xing. The support of the cushions is guaranteed by a Pelle Frau® leather surface wrapping the lower, side and upper part of the wooden structure. The cushions are fi xed to the structure by means of concealed zips and snap buttons. The lining of the back and armrest cushions is sewn in a single element while the lining of the chair cushion is independent and hooked to the rest of the lining.

Upholstery. Entirely in Pelle Frau® leather or in leather / fabric combination. Ninety years and still going strong. “Modello 904” began production as far back as 1930, known with the name Vanity Fair starting in 1984. The original design seems to have been re-worked by Poltrona Frau starting from the drawings Renzo Frau left his wife Savina. With the passing of the years, Vanity Fair has become one of the universally recognised icons of Italian design, and the emblem of the company. A story that, upon reaching its 90th year, Poltrona Frau has decided to celebrate by launching the Vanity Fair XC. The company asked the designer Roberto Lazzeroni to revisit Vanity Fair, adapting its proportions to the lifestyles of today. The result is a version that is respectful of the original but even more comfortable and welcoming.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Supporting structure. Solid seasoned beech wood.

Suspension. Biconical hand-tied steel springs fastened to jute belts.

Padding. Back. Rubberised horsehair. Armrests: hand-shaped vegetable horsehair. Goose down fi lled seat cushion with polyurethane foam insert.

Aesthetic details. The external back and sides of the armchair are fi nished with a row of leather covered tacks.

Novant'anni e non sentirli. Risale infatti al lontano 1930 la messa in produzione del "modello 904", conosciuto dal 1984 con il nome Vanity Fair. Il progetto originale pare sia stato rielaborato da Poltrona Frau a partire dai disegni lasciati da Renzo Frau alla moglie Savina. AB Concept ha rivisitato una forma classica dandole un tocco decisamente contemporaneo. Il risultato è di grande leggerezza formale, con un sofi sticato gioco di pieni e di vuoti particolarmente adatto a valorizzare la poltroncina da pranzo sia quando è da sola, sia quando è accostata a un tavolo. Kyoto — Gianfranco Frattini — 2020

L'eleganza essenziale di ispirazione giapponese e la ricchezza materica del legno massello, evidenziata dalla preziosa lavorazione a incastro: così nasce Kyoto, riedizione fedele del tavolo che Gianfranco Frattini disegnò nel '74, presentata da Poltrona Frau in occasione del lancio della collezione 2020. Nel tavolo Kyoto il concetto costruttivo diventa l’oggetto stesso. L’assenza di elementi decorativi esalta la bellezza della materia prima - gli inserti di noce Canaletto hanno un preciso compito di rinforzo - richiedendo grande abilità e cura nella realizzazione, e profonda conoscenza della materia. Il tavolo Kyoto fa parte della collezione permanente del Museo del Design alla Triennale di Milano.


Modelli.

Struttura top e gambe. In legno massello di faggio extra chiaro con inserti in legno massello di noce canaletto in testa ai listelli del top e delle gambe. Le doghe di legno sono unite fra loro con incastri a 45° a formare una trama quadrata. Tutte le superfi ci sono trattate con una vernice opaca trasparente protettiva.

Gambe. Gambe a chiasmo sfi labili e posizionabili a piacere.

Dettagli estetici. Il logo Poltrona Frau e la fi rma dell’architetto sono incisi al laser su una delle facce dei montanti della gamba.

Simple Japanese elegance and the tactile richness of solid wood, underlined by the expert dovetail joints: the Kyoto table designed by Gianfranco Frattini in ‘74 is faithfully revisited and presented by Poltrona Frau on the occasion of the launch of the 2020 collection.In the Kyoto table the construction concept becomes the object itself. The absence of decorative elements exalts the beauty of the raw material - the Canaletto walnut inserts have a precise strengthening function - requiring great technical ability and care as well as an in-depth knowledge of the material. The Kyoto table forms part of the permanent collection of the Design Museum at the Milan Triennale.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Items.

Structure top and legs. In extra light solid beech wood with solid Canaletto walnut inserts at the end of the boards of the top and legs. The wooden boards are connected with 45° joints that form a square pattern. All surfaces are treated with a protective transparent matt varnish.

Legs. Slide-off counterpoise legs that can be positioned as desired.

Aesthetic details. The Poltrona Frau logo and the designer’s signature are laser engraved on one of the faces of the leg supports.

Il tradizionale tavolo da pranzo diventa un’elegante, stilizzata scultura. L’ebanisteria artigianale si fonde con le tecnologie di fresatura più innovative. Lavorazioni del legno avanzate e complesse, permettono la realizzazione di un tavolo che ha la forza estetica di un pezzo unico. I piedi appaiono affusolati e leggeri. Il piano sembra quasi galleggiare, grazie alla particolare e sinuosa giunzione con la base.

The traditional dining table becomes an elegant stylised sculpture. Artisan cabinet work merges with cutting-edge milling technologies. Advanced, complex woodworking processes have allowed the production of the table maintaining its unique aesthetic. The solid wood legs look tapered and light. The entire perimeter of the top is meticulously rounded and seems almost floating, and it is joined to the base in a sinuous way.

Wooden top. The core of the top is made with a particle board veneered on the upper and lower side. The bevelled edge around the top is made of solid wood and features the same finishing as the top and supporting structure.

La trasparenza del vetro e la morbidezza della pelle, per una famiglia di vasi aperti a libere composizioni o utilizzabili singolarmente.


Dimensioni.- Piccolo, ø 10 cm h 10 cm- Largo, ø 19 cm h 20 cm- Alto, ø 15 cm h 30 cm

Vaso. Opzionale. Di forma cilindrica realizzati in vetro stampato con bordo superiore tagliato a caldo e disponibili in 3 dimensioni.

Cover. La cover è costituita da una fascia in Pelle Frau® Nest accoppiata all’interno con un’altra fascia della stessa pelle a formare un cilindro in cui poter inserire il vaso. Una cucitura perimetrale, realizzata con fi lo a contrasto, defi nisce la geometria della cover e crea una sorta di maniglia a forma di “pinna” che consente la presa dell’oggetto. I bordi sono rifi niti a mano con una ceratura e tinti tono su tono.

The transparency of glass and softness of leather are combined in a collection of vases, which can be arranged together or used individually.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Vase. Optional. Cylindrical in shape, made out of stamped glass with upper edge hot cut and available in three sizes.

Cover. The cover is made out of a Pelle Frau® Nest leather strip paired on the inside with another strip made out of the same leather to form a cylinder to put the vase in. An edge stitching done with contrasting thread sketches out the shape of the cover and creates a kind of fi n-shaped handle that helps grasp the object. The edges are hand-fi nished with a waxing and tone-on-tone shades.

CARATTERISTICHE COMUNI A TUTTI I MODELLI

Struttura. In multistrato di betulla.

Imbottitura. Seduta e fi anchi sono imbottiti in poliuretano espanso. Nel pouf ø46 De Luxe l’imbottitura è rinforzata da una tela elastica che assicura il molleggio.

Zoccolo inferiore. In MDF verniciato nero testurizzato con puntali in plastica nera a protezione del pavimento.

Dettagli estetici (eccetto Pouf De Luxe: 60x40, 65x45 con contenitore, ø46 e 90x64). Due cinte decorative avvolgono verticalmente la struttura del pouf. Alla base delle cinte sono poste delle fi bbie in acciaio con trattamento galvanico ruthenium.

MODELLI DE LUXE

I modelli sono caratterizzati da una particolare lavorazione a intreccio, realizzata con fasce in Pelle Frau® larghe 6 cm a 45°, che decora la struttura perimetrale dei pouf.

FEATURES COMMON TO ALL ITEMS

Structure. Made of birch plywood.

Padding. The seat and sides are padded with polyurethane foam. In the ø46 De Luxe Ottoman the padding is reinforced with an elastic cloth to secure the springs.

Lower base. In MDF in texturised black paint with black plastic caps to protect the fl oor.

Aesthetic details (except for the De Luxe Ottomans: 60x40 65x45 with storage compartment, ø46 and 90x64). Two decorative belts are wrapped vertically around the frame of the ottoman. At the base of the belts there are steel buckles with ruthenium galvanic treatment.

DE LUXE ITEMS

The items are distinctive for their original latticework - consisting of 6 cm-wide strips of handwoven Pelle Frau® leather at a 45° angle - which decorates the perimetral upholstery of the ottomans.

Come un raffi nato diario di viaggio rilegato in pelle, la collezione di cuscini decorativi Journey raccoglie sensazioni e ricordi di paesaggi vissuti, riassumendoli in un'interpretazione cromatica sensibile e colta. Disegnati per Poltrona Frau da Giulio Ridolfo in collaborazione con Chiara Novello, i cuscini Journey rappresentano le campagne arse dal sole, il fl uire naturale dei corsi d’acqua e i cortili dei villaggi illuminati da lanterne attraverso un prezioso intreccio geometrico dall'eff etto tridimensionale.


Dimensioni.- 47x47- 35x57

Imbottitura. In piuma d’oca protetta da una fodera interna in cotone e poliestere.

Sfoderabilità. Prevista grazie alla presenza di una chiusura lampo nascosta.

Rivestimento. I cuscini sono rivestiti in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® con supporto interno in tela. Il fronte dei cuscini è caratterizzato da fasce intrecciate a mano a formare un motivo a scacchiera. Ogni fascia è composta da tre listini in pelle dai toni di colore digradanti, due laterali uguali e un diverso colore centrale. Il retro del cuscino è di colore diverso rispetto al fronte ed è diviso in una parte inferiore con marchio Poltrona Frau impresso a caldo e una inferiore in pelle microforata.

Combinazione colori. Sono disponibili in 3 combinazioni di colori: - Pier 1, nella gamma dei verdi - Tannery, nella gamma dei colori naturali della pelletteria- Gion, nelle nuances del viola e del blu scuro

Like a refi ned leather-bound travel diary, the collection of Journey decorative cushions celebrates the atmospheres and memories of once-visited places, summarising them in a sensitive and cultured account notable for its vivid colours. Designed for Poltrona Frau by Giulio Ridolfo in collaboration with Chiara Novello, the Journey cushions depict the fi elds parched by the sun, the natural fl ow of watercourses and the yards of villages lit up by lanterns through a precious 3D-eff ect geometric weave.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Size.- 47x47- 35x57

Padding. Made of goose down protected by inner cotton lining and polyester.

Removability. Provided for all fabrics and velvet through a zip.

Upholstery. The cushions are covered in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® with an internal canvas support. The fronts of the cushions are distinctive for their handwoven strips which form a checkerboard motif. Every strip consists of three leather laces in progressive shades of colour, two at the sides which are identical and a diff erent colour in the middle. The back of the cushion has a diff erent colour to the front and is divided into a top part with branded Poltrona Frau logo and a lower part in micro-perforated leather.

Colour combinations. They are available in three colour combinations: - Pier 1, in a range of greens - Tannery, in a range of natural leatherware colours- Gion, in the tones of violet and dark blue

Le Miniature - Mini Kyoto — Gianfranco Frattini — 2020

Nel tavolo Kyoto il concetto costruttivo diventa l’oggetto stesso. L’assenza di elementi decorativi esalta la bellezza della materia prima - gli inserti di noce Canaletto hanno un preciso compito di rinforzo - richiedendo grande abilità e cura nella realizzazione, e profonda conoscenza della materia.Questa miniatura rappresenta la riproduzione di una porzione del top del tavolo attraverso un set composto da sei elementi ad incastro.


Struttura. In legno massello di faggio extra chiaro con inserti in legno massello di noce canaletto in testa ai listelli. Le doghe di legno sono unite fra loro con incastri a 45° a formare una trama quadrata. Ogni elemento in legno è ricavato dalla porzione di una doga che costituisce il top del tavolo.

In the Kyoto table the construction concept becomes the object itself. The absence of decorative elements exalts the beauty of the raw material - the Canaletto walnut inserts have a precise strengthening function - requiring great technical ability and care as well as an in-depth knowledge of the material.This miniature represents the reproduction of a portion of the table top through a set consisting of six interlocking elements.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Structure. In extra light solid beech wood with solid Canaletto walnut inserts at the end of the boards. The wooden boards are connected with 45° joints that form a square pattern. Each wooden element is obtained from the portion of a slat which forms the top of the table.
