MESSAGE FROM PS RAY MCCAULEY
“CHOOSE HUMILITY”Pride and humility both have divine consequences. God resists the proud, but He lifts up the humble (James 4:10). Our lives will be changed drastically if we take the time to realize the importance of humility.
God’s blueprint for us is greatness through humility.Humility should be the first virtue in the life of a Christian. Humility is not a weakness. In fact the opposite is true; the one who is truly humble has power. Being gentle is Godly and not a sign of weakness. We should respond with Godly gentleness in all circumstances. We need to look at those around us and seek out opportunities to serve them as God has ordained.
Humility helps us to accept our limitations in our humanity, whilst pride fuels the ego. Humility is the antidote for the poison of pride. According to author Rick Warren: “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but rather thinking of yourself less.” A heart of humility is a heart that esteems others greater than itself. It serves others and submits to others.People are not impressed by how much you know, but

Christ exemplified humility, and Paul tells us that we need to have the mind of Christ; purposeful and teachable. When we are able to relate to all types of people, humility will bring compassion, love and empathy. Intimacy with God can only be achieved through humility.
Monica Baldwin said: “What makes humility so desirable, is the marvelous thing it does to us. It creates in us a capacity for the closest possible intimacy with God.”Phillip Keller said: “Humility is the only seedbed from which faith can spring. In brokenness and contrition the humble person cries out to God for help.” He reaches out to Christ for restoration and healing are accessable through Christ. Exercises your faith, be humble, seek the One that is greater than yourself.
God bless you all as you choose to walk in humility.
Lots of love to you all,

...Big Difference
KIDS AT THECROSS
Your child’s safety is vitally important to us. Here are a few tips to help you keep your children safe:
- Parents please teach your children your cell phone number; it is important that they can give your details in case of emergencies. However they need to understand that they should only give your number out to their teacher at school and church or to the police.
- Please also refrain from bringing your child to Kid’s Church if they are sick; the health and safety of the children and volunteers is very important to us.
- Ensure that you know where your children are for the entire time that they are on the church premises. Your children should never be left on their own or be allowed to go to the toilet alone as they could easily get lost.

NAMES OF CHILDREN DEDICATED AT RHEMA
(For the month of June 2015)
Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything
within their power to raise their child prayerfully in a godly way, until they can make a
decision on their own to follow God. Some of the responsibilities include teaching and
training the child in God’s Word, demonstrating an example of godliness, disciplining
according to God’s ways and praying earnestly for their child.

By Rick Warren
“To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace. Those who obey their human nature cannot please God” (Romans 8:6, 8 TEV).
Learning to manage your emotions is the key to peace of mind. I want to share with you four important reasons from God’s Word why you need to learn to deal with what you feel.
1You need to learn to manage your emotions because they are often
unreliable. Your gut is often wrong. Your intuition is often flawed. Your emotions often lead you down a blind alley. You can’t depend on everything you feel! Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death” (NIV). You don’t have to accept everything you feel, because not everything you feel is right or authentic or will lead you in the right direction.
2You need to learn to manage your emotions because you don’t want to
be manipulated. If you don’t control your emotions, they will control you, and you will be manipulated by your moods. And, if you’re always guided by your feelings, other people are going to take advantage of you. Worst of all, Satan’s favorite tool is negative emotions. He will use fear, resentment, and worry to wreak havoc in your life. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy

3You need to learn to manage your emotions because you want to please
God. God cannot rule your life if emotions rule your life. If you make your decisions based on how you feel, then you’ve made your feelings god, and then God can’t be God in your life. Romans 8:6 and 8 says, “To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace. Those who obey their human nature cannot please God” (NIV).
4You need to learn to manage your emotions because you want to succeed
in life. Study after study has shown that your emotional quotient is far more important than your IQ when it comes to success. How many people do you know who ruined their reputation because of something said in anger? Or missed a job opportunity because of their lack of self-control? The Bible says in Proverbs 5:23, “[People] get lost and die because of their foolishness and lack of self-control” (CEV).
When you give your heart to Jesus, that includes your emotions. So when you say, “I gave my heart to Jesus,” you gave your emotions to Him to be managed by Him. Jesus wants to be Lord of how you feel, not just what you think and do. He wants to be Lord of your emotions. “From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God’s will and not by human desires” (1 Peter 4:2 TEV).
