• Younger generations do not associate high pay and job security with trade schools.
• Only 11% think they can get a high-paying job from trade school.
• 54% think the trade school pay gap is higher than it really is.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
• Position NPMA as the advocate for prospective and current employees with a priority on attracting field technicians among other roles
• Highlight pest control as a viable and desirable industry with many job opportunities and career paths
• Build a pipeline of qualified candidates to meet business demand
• Increase overall pride and professionalism in the industry and showcase the value of what pest management professionals do to protect people, food and property from common pests and to improve overall quality of life
UPDATE ON WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE
• Finalized all website requirements and began development process
• Wireframes and homepage (desktop and mobile) designs complete
• Currently designing, coding and writing for the rest of the site
• Finalizing the format of the job board and are working on a rollout plan to best engage NPMA members
• Secured the handle @PestControlJobs for our social media channels to connect with the site
• Completed SEO audits to ensure keywords are appropriately targeted on the new site
• Building a media list to utilize for proactive pitching
• Site will be accessible to Canada; job board accessible for search; looking to purchase URL
JOB BOARD FUNCTIONALITY
• NPMA members will be provided with access to post jobs
• Jobs are listed ordered by the date they are posted
• Applicants can sign up for job alerts so they are notified about new postings
• NPMA members will be able to create and customize their own employer description
