Back To Virtual Class:
Students were again
welcomed to the virtual
classes in the new academic
session with lots of zeal.
Mentors gave a virtual
introduction of themselves
and it was a day of mutual
interaction and collaborative
study.
Kargil Vijay Diwas:
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on 26 July to honour the brave soldiers of
the Indian army who selflessly laid down their lives to safeguard India’s borders. This
year marks the 22nd year of victory at Kargil.
Indus Universal School,primary wing observed Kargil Vijay Diwas
by organising “’My Canvas”’ poster making activity to commemorate this occasion.
The activity aimed at remembering the glorious deeds of the martyrs.
The posters made by the students of the primary wing paid a rich tribute to the Kargil
heroes and the sacrifices made by them in the line of duty. The activity ensured that
these martyrs shall forever live on in the memories of a grateful nation. Their tales of
valour shall inspire generations of young Indians.

Show and Tell :
The students of Indus Universal School observed Janmashtami in the
virtual platform and a show and tell competition was organised to
commemorate this occasion . Janmashtami celebrations were brought to
life by the show and tell performances that represented Sri
Krishna’ ‘Leelas’ that depicted the importance of the occasion. The
students were judged on the basis of their make-up, expressions as well
as their level of confidence.

Indus Olympiad:
Indus Olympiad Level -1 was held online for an in depth
performance analysis of the students general knowledge and
current affairs and also their knowledge in subjects upto their
grade level. The children have appeared for an online quiz to
clear level-1 Olympiad.
IInd Language Poem Recitation:
The children participated in the second language poetry competition
with enthusiasm and vigor, the children were encouraged to select
poems according to their choice. An array of impressive poems were
recited in the virtual platform. The confidence and eagerness expressed
by the children made the event a grand success.
Celebrations
Nurture the Nature:
Van Mahotsav-raising awareness of the importance of our environment by celebrating
the nature that surrounds us.
‘Trees are the kindest things we grow’. This has been rightly said as the needs of all
the living beings are fulfilled by them. But their depleting number has become a
serious issue. To make students aware of this issue and taking initiative towards it,
poster making and germination activities were organised on this occasion, to nurture
the nature through art was the motto for this event.
Raksha Bandhan:Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between
a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions.
To commemorate this festival, a ‘Rakhi Making Activity’ was organized for the
students of Primary Wing. The students made beautiful Rakhis using different articles
like silken thread, glitter sheets, ribbon, etc. The children thoroughly enjoyed this
activity and were excited and enthralled to make their own Rakhi.
Thanks Giving:As the name suggests the festival is a reminder to us of the importance of gratitude in
life. Children are never too young to learn the value of everything they have in life
and for being thankful for it. In fact, this should become a daily practice. Keeping
this in mind the children made thanksgiving cards to give thanks specially to the
frontline warriors.

International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day is celebrated across the world on June 21st every
year. Yoga Day is celebrated to highlight the importance of Yoga and how
it is beneficial in keeping the body and mind in sound health. Yoga
renews the mind with confidence.
To mark this special occasion, the mentors and students of Indus
Universal School across Grades 1 to 5 participated to practice yoga and
make yoga a way of life.
Teacher’s Day:A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite imagination and instill love for learning’.
This year on Teachers’ Day the primary school children of Grades 1 to 5 had a
warm celebration for their teachers in the virtual platform.
Virtual Teachers’ Day was filled with exciting and heart-warming presentations by
the students. The children showed their affection, regard, and respect for their
teachers. They presented speeches, made beautiful cards, dances, songs and enacted
role plays of their mentors to express their feelings. It must be mentioned that
everything was organised by the children themselves with mentors and parents
ardently guiding their children.
Independence Day:
This year too ,Indus Universal School has ensured that the fervor of patriotism lives
on. The Independence Day celebrations happened online. The lively part of the
online Independence day event was the flag hoisting ceremony that was recorded
and displayed for the students and a pre-recorded speech by respected chairman sir
was the highlight of the show. “The synchronised displays of students dressed up as
freedom fighters despite being in different homes was really noteworthy.

To make learning a joyous experience, Social Science celebration was observed in
the month of August for classes III to V. The classroom became a hive of active
learning with ardent students participating in variegated activities.
Interesting Quiz sessions were conducted for all the three classes, wherein their
knowledge was put to test. It was a way to demonstrate how the learning of Social
Science can be enjoyable, exploratory and enabled the students to think critically
and apply what they have learned so far. The success of this celebration marked to
show how Social Science can help in raising the awareness of students about
issues related to their daily lives as well as the vast diversity of the world. It is
important that today’s child must embrace this diversity so as to make this world a
better place to live in.

‘Colours of Telangana’
The little kids of class-III were given different topics and each one of them presented
their views through live presentation on festivals, tourist places, famous personalities,
dance forms and farming and cultivation of Telangana.
Children performed dance forms of Telangana and enacted stories related to festivals
of Telangana.
This activity helped the children to appreciate the culture and heritage of our state. It
also helped the students to identify leaders who inspire them.
Social Science Celebration
“My Pride My India”
To ignite interest in history and beauty of Indian architecture, students were
encouraged to make a live presentation on dance forms, festivals, handicraft,
tourism and attire of the states of Northern mountains and Northern Plains
through-

• History of National Flag
• Clean Ganga project
This activity helped the students to understand that festivals add diversity, bring
people together through celebrations and traditions, the regional diversity of India
with regard to language, food, clothes, folk dance and music and the importance
of crafts as a part of our cultural heritage.
Social Science Celebration
‘Around the World’
To incorporate sport skills, history, importance and role of India in Olympics
topics were given as a part of social science celebrations. The children presented
their topics on three heat Zones of the world – location of the countries, climate,
lifestyle, minerals, and agriculture.
Financial Literacy was taught by mentors to make the children understand about
money when they're young and continuing to have money conversations as they
grow older. Activities on banking like depositing of money and withdrawal of
money were also part of this celebrations.
Social Science Celebration
Creative Club Activities
Students of primary wing celebrated the Telangana food and culture, flameless cooking,
Worli art, drawing and coloring as a part of the creative club activity. The food and
culture of Telangana was displayed to depict the rich cultural heritage of the state.
The depiction of Worli art was created by the children of the primary wing on canvas. It
was an amalgamation of traditional tribal art, culture and tradition through the
imagination of the children that was brilliantly depicted on paper.
The education system all across the world has gone through a paradigm shift and
a vast transformation has taken place not just in terms of resources and content
but also in terms of modes which catered to newer versions of application based
learning. Our school believes in embracing changes and facilitating growth
through continuous and comprehensive assessments.
Since the rise of the pandemic, teaching moved online with extensive research in
the application based learning, The classes are being conducted through the new
educational applications like Padlet, Nearpod, Seterra, Classroom screen, Live
worksheets, storyboard etc. Technology has emerged as a superhero in this phase
of virtual learning and has facilitated towards an effective learning.
When things are taught, then it also becomes necessary to take assessments.
Hence, the need for online examination in the virtual platform wherein the
PT-1 was conducted with utmost precision to detail.
