Spring is in the air and heaps of new and exciting things are happening on Primary Perspectives. This month for ‘SwitchOn Radio’ Bentleigh West Primary School (junior winners of the 2011 School Broadcasting Network’s School Award) are producing an ‘Awesome 4some’ show on green food, fashion, fun and fame, including a great interview with SBN’s International Ambassador Erin Schrode, USA.

Primary Perspectives has been nominated for 4 CBAA Awards this year. The CBAA Awards are designed to promote excellence in community broadcasting and acknowledge the accomplishments of stations for their programs. Fingers crossed everyone! Winners will be announced in November.
School Broadcasting Network’s School Awards Would your school like to perform at the SBN International & Indigenous Youth Awards on Saturday 27th October to be in the running to win a fully sponsored ‘SwitchOn Radio’ Enrichment Program for 2013?
This year’s theme is “As an agent for positive change in the world, what would be your vision, journey and destination for 2015?”
Performances must be an original piece of work (appox 3-4 minutes long) created by students, which can be in any format such as a song, poem, skit, PowerPoint, video or speech. The SBN School Awards will be broadcast live worldwide from SBN’s new home at Swinburne University’s ‘green state of the art’ KIOSC Discovery Centre and performing at the Awards is great chance to showcase your school to the world!
SBN will be creating a new studio at KIOSC to provide greater opportunities for more schools to participate in ‘SwitchOn Radio’ Enrichment Programs in 2013. Stay tuned!
SBN Global Ambassador – Erin Schrode SBN International & Indigenous Youth Awards 2012 The School Broadcasting Network is proud to announce Erin Schrode, SBN International Ambassador and Founder of ‘Teens Turning Green’ / ‘The Schoolbag,’, will be keynote speaker at the International Awards via satellite from New York.
Nominations are now open for the SBN Youth Awards so if you know a young person who is… • demonstrating a passionate commitment to social justice and caring for community • creating initiatives and benchmarks that inspire their peers to take positive action • furthering the understanding and integration of indigenous culture and heritage • trail-blazing with initiatives for creating an equitable and sustainable future Nominate them now!
