Primrose Hill History
Take a stroll around Primrose Hill today and
you would struggle to imagine the area
being famed for wolves, bravado-fuelled
duels and murder. However, before the
19th century the area was little more that a
woodland - and quite an inaccessible at
that - making it the perfect place fortreacherous acts and hunting. The one
glimmer of light was the carpet of primrose
flowers that covered the hill and eventually
natural beauty overcame the dark side, as
the grassland was made a public park in
1842.

1. Rubbing shoulders with the stars- attractions in Primrose Hill
take a human form, with some the world's most recognisable

If you are thinking of buying a property for sale in
Primrose Hill, be warned. You'll have to make friends
with a good estate agent before you stand a chance of
securing a property. Andrew Ellinas, the Managing
Director of Primrose Hill estate agents Sandfords, says
that due to the celebrity status of many of the residents,
transactions often happen 'under the radar': "The profile
of many Primrose Hill residents is so high that they don't
want their movements known. We pride ourselves on
discretion and can introduce buyers to property for sale
in Primrose Hill that might not be in the public domain."
While never out of fashion, Primrose Hill's desirability levels are increasing. Property portal Zoopla reported a
5% increase in property prices in Primrose Hill during the last 12 months, with an average asking price of justover 2.5 million and average monthly rents in the area at 4,300 per month. "The combination of village
atmosphere and central location means Primrose Hill is often at the top of property buyers' 'most wanted'
lists. The market here is driven by stars of the stage and screen who are looking for like-minded neighbours,
loyal locals putting down roots and international purchasers who see London as a safe long-term investment,"
