Dear Families and Friends of Prince of Peace Catholic School, We look forward to Vocation Day this upcoming Tuesday. This a special day for all fifth graders and especially for the fifth graders of the school that hosts this event! I appreciate all the work Mrs. Leonard and the fifth graders have given in preparing for the Vocation Day liturgy music. At the end of each school day we pray for vocations. Each child has a vocation that God has placed in their heart. It will speak to them and tug at their heart during their lifetime. We pray that our children hear the call of the vocation God has for them, but we also know that this calling, if not nurtured, can get lost amid the priorities that culture can shout. I think all true vocations take some sacrifice. Certainly not the sacrifice Christ gave, but if truly living a vocation, decisions are made along the way, priorities are established, that either draw us closer to faithfully fulfilling our call from God or lead us to the whims of the world. Faith-filled homes and school, sacraments, holy role models, friendships fostered in faith, daily prayer, hearts open to the Holy Spirit, and time set aside to focus on vocations, help nurture hearts open to God’s calling. Peace Friends,
Jane Shriver Principal
VOCATION DAY
Prince of Peace Catholic School is fortunate to host Vocation Day on Tuesday, April 10th. Only 5th Graders and all faculty and staff attend school this day. There is no school for students in K-4 and 6-8 on April 10th. We look forward to hosting over 800 fifth graders here at Prince of Peace on Vocation Day! We pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life!
NO SCHOOL – FRIDAY, APRIL 13TH
There is no school on Friday, April 13th. Teachers will participate in Faith Formation and in-service this day.
STUDENTS WILL ATTEND SCHOOL MAY 7TH
School will be in session for all students on May 7th. This was a day originally planned for Faith Formation and in-service, however, we will use this day to make up for an overage on snow days. We are fortunate as other Catholic schools in the area had more snow days than Prince of Peace. One of the snow days this year was already a day off for our students, as teachers had Faith Formation and in-service on that day.

*VOLUNTEERS NEEDED* BODY VENTURE Tues 4/10 & Wed 4/11
On Wednesday, April 11, our K-5 students will enjoy Body Venture, a 50-ft adventure exhibit representing the human body. The exhibit will be set up in the gym and student groups will make their way through various parts of the human body including the brain, heart, stomach & lungs! We will need many parent volunteers on Tuesday, April 10th at 5:00 pm to help with set-up – parents helping with set up do not need to be VIRTUS trained. We will also need many more VIRTUS trained volunteers on Wednesday, April 11th to help with short 5 minute presentations of the information (scripts provided) and to help the student groups go through the exhibit. All volunteers must wear socks while inside the exhibit. We are grateful to the Kansas Nutrition Council for accepting our grant application and allowing us to bring this incredible exhibit to POP!
