Camp Tall Timbers opened in 1970 with founder Jerry Smith at the helm. Jerry purchased the 120 acre property and developed camp from the ground up. He has seen more than 10,000 campers thrive during their summers at CTT! Camp Tall Timbers has been family owned for 46 years, We are rated one of the 50 most amazing summer camps in the U.S. by Early Childhood

Education Zone and by Top Education Degrees.org. We have also earned top ratings in Bethesda Magazine’s Best Overnight Camps issue. Camp Tall Timbers has always been a magical summer place where kids ages 7-16, thrive and grow in a community of peers. For 46 years, we’ve built a safe haven, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where kids can spread their wings and fly! While we offer an incredible array of activities that reflect the interests of today’s young people,

Camp Tall Timbers is really about time-honored values — honesty, friendship, skill-building, respect, teamwork, confidence, creativity, and self discovery. Camp is about meeting new challenges, making new friends and having fun. But there’s a deeply held philosophy behind the mission and a method for getting kids engaged.

Engineering For Kids

began when Dori Roberts,

founder and CEO, noticed

that there was a lack of

engineering programs in

the area to enroll her then

6 and 8 year old children.

Dori opened her first location in 2009 and began

franchising her business in 2011. Since then,

Engineering For Kids has opened 145 locations in

21 countries.

Engineering For Kids brings science, technology,

engineering, and math (STEM), to kids ages 4 to 14

in a fun and challenging way.

We are proud to inspire children to build on their

natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts

through hands-on learning. Engineering is, after all,

one of the fastest growing industries in the world!

Camps change weekly and span multiple

engineering disciplines. There are 2 Junior (ages 4-

6) programs and 2 Apprentice/Master (ages 7-14)

running each week.

Fresta Valley Christian School

Fresta Valley Christian School Summer Camps are located at and operated by Fresta Valley Christian School. This summer we will

offer 8 weeks of camps. Each camp has different age ranges. We are located 6428 Wilson Road in Marshall, Virginia. All of our camps run from 9:00am through 3:00pm. Extended care is offered as needed for an extra fee. Each week is a different camp and campers can choose to come for the whole summer or can sign up for the weeks that interest them.

Each day begins with a devotional time and then campers do one activity after another all built around the camp theme for that week. Campers complete tons of projects, participate in recreational activities, and go on at least one field trip each week. Our goal is that the campers will have fun, learn something new, exercise their creativity, and make new friends all in a Christ centered and loving environment. Our camps are built around different themes each

week and consist of a variety of hands on projects that, use creativity, problem solving, imagination, and team work. While we have some camp leaders who work in our camps all summer, we have different leaders that come in each week giving fresh energy and providing a new approach to each camp. Each camp will take a field trip around the area to expand their knowledge of the theme for the week or to just have fun. Some field trips that we have taken in past summers include the Steven F.Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum, The Bug Box, the Discovery Museum, Domino's Pizza, Sweet Frog, Safeway, the W ARF in Warrenton, the Luray Zoo, and the Skyline Drive to name a few.

Adventure Links at Hentlock Overlook

Adventure Links provides adventurebased summer camp opportunities for rising 2nd graders all the way up to

ADVENTURE rising 12th graders. Ll N KS at: HeY>i._ocf<-- OveK.oo!L They offer day

'-R.e'J'L>nal tar!L d camps, resi ential camps and traveling expeditions with the common goal of creating meaningful experiences and lasting relationships.

The one thing that makes this camp unique to our area is the nature of our programming. We all believe that there are transformations that occur when you step just a little outside of your comfort zone. Adventure sports, while also a lot of FUN, provide the opportunity to push your personal boundaries and, in turn, grow from those experiences.

The staff is constantly engaged in providing meaningful experiences outside. Adventure Links programming is intentional and geared towards the participant. They prefer facilitating activities rather than teaching them.

There is a lesson to be learned in everything that we do. When Adventure Links was awarded the contract to take over running programs at Hemlock Overlook we saw the opportunity to broaden the reach of our outdoor adventure-style activities within Northern Virginia. The summer camp program that had once been offered at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park was reestablished and reinvented with a stronger focus on getting youth outside and exploring the wonders of all 235 acres of the park.

Adventure Links' programs also strive to continue the traditions and values that have been established over Hemlock Overlook's 30 years of outdoor education programing by centering around personal growth and creating lasting relationships between our participants. We set out to help campers uncover courage, launch personal journeys, and become good stewards of the land. Through utilizing the wonderful tract ofland in the heart of Northern Virginia, as well as many other sites throughout the area, we are able to accomplish all three of these goals.

British Swim

School

Survival of the Littlest British Swim School (BSS) uses proven methodologies that empower people to save their own lives. Through their teaching, children as young as three months old are able to learn to back float, enabling them to rest, breathe and call for help. This alleviates the "silent" danger of floating face down. British Swim School also offers swim lessons for toddlers and stroke improvement classes for more advanced swimmers. They don't just teach children how to swim. They also teach survival skills, building confidence among students and their families. British Swim School promotes love and respect for water and foster abilities that can translate to lifelong enjoyment.

What sets them apart are their Water Survival and Learn-to-Swim programs along with small class sizes to get one-on-one teaching. Program age starts at 3 months of age. They have indoor, year-round, heated pools and their programs are not session based but progression based on meeting skills.

Locations for Prince William programs are at LA Fitness and Kid's Choice Sports Center both in Woodbridge. Visit their website for sign up details. www. britishswimschool.com

The Workhouse Youth Arts Camp provides high-quality fine arts instruction to campers in a historic location. Campers learn directly from the source, professional studio artists and art educators. Our camp classes step away from the classic pasta and construction paper projects, and onto learning a breadth of techniques in four or more media per session. For example, campers have learned the ancient technique of Chinese Brush Painting on rice paper, and the art of plating and food sculpture in Culinary Arts. Our final projects are photographed or displayed at our annual Art under the Arches exhibition held at the conclusion of camp.

Our campers have become integral to our program - in and beyond the classroom! Our camp program began in 2009 and has since tripled in size. We've seen so many young children grow into young adults. Campers like Josephine Smith volunteer as a Teaching Assistant when aged-out of the program. Campers like Jackie Westbrook and Giselle Hartley won awards for their artwork in and outside of the Workhouse Arts Center.

Arts Intensive student, Katie Smith, hopes to return this year as a Camp Counselor. Our campers are the best to us, so we provide the best for them! We've designed a special one-week arts camp program for our elementary age neighbors in Prince William! Join us for this special opportunity: June 20-June 24, Mon-Fri (9am-5pm). Ages 6-10 will start summer the right way - with a week crammed of creativity at the Workhouse!

Freedom

Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center

Aquatic & Fitness Center"'

Aquatic Center offers a variety of unique camp programs ranging in ages from 3-15 and part day or full day camp programs for all of your arts, education and recreation needs! From a Preschool Camp to a new outdoor recreation camp teaching survival techniques with an overnight camping trip ... FAFC offers it all!

Their camps are unique for several reasons; however, one that stands out is the ability to drop off at 6:30am and pick up as late as 6:30pm. The most unique aspect of our camp programming is our staff. Our camp staff is strategically picked and embark through a two week training and orientation week to ensure the team is a cohesive group before their first day with the summer campers. Our camp team is made up of young adults starting at 18 years in age all the way up to 40+. All who have a passion to PLAY and help the community's youth find passion through summer recreation. Our team leaders strive to create an environment where camp staff can

lean on each other throughout the day and trust one another. Our camp family stays in touch throughout the year and generally are friends much longer than the 3 months in between school years. When a camp staff member enjoys his/her job and looks forward to coming to work each day to help a camper over come a new challenge or find a new passion for rock climbing the parents can feel that environment and know their child is in a safe and productive camp setting. Each year during the interview process, we have SEVERAL applicants that were previous summer campers. This makes our hearts full and smiles shine knowing that the camp programs and staff had a positive impact on their childhood. The unique aspect of having a strong and passionate camp team is reflective in each area of our camp program. Our counselors are not hired just be staff for the summer, they are the environment and set the tone for the success of the program. Their desire to help each child over come a challenge or meet a new friend is reflected through the smiles and high fives we observe on a daily basis. The campers and staff become a family throughout the summer while experience rock climbing, pool relays, new crafts and more each day.

Our community is truly an extended family of positive outdoor professionals. After a rewarding career in the Marines and time as a Boy Scout leader, our founder, Colonel Gene Nervo, created this backpacking program to offer an exciting adventure to young people that was inherently challenging and uniquely rewarding. He built the program with the help of his family beginning in 1990 and now we have a thriving Adventure Camp and year-round Group Program that offers the adventure and challenge that he dreamed of over 25 years ago. In that time one of the most special results of the program's growth is the community of staff who have learned from and add to the program over the years--many of whom are now working in rewarding outdoor careers and are married with families of their own! WA is uniquely an all-outdoor backpacking program. We provide all the equipment from backpacks and tents, to climbing shoes and helmets, to water bottles and spoons. Groups are small so that they will learn important leadership skills and forge close bonds. Each group is lead by staff members who are trained outdoor industry professionals and usually older than most camp staffs being either college-aged or older and working in our program year-round. Adventure Camp: 1- or 2-week expeditions in a wilderness setting with the purpose of building self-reliance, leadership skills, and teamwork. Groups form a unique team within their age groups and

travel together throughout southwest Virginia participating in both individual and group challenges, resulting in a rewarding adventure and lots of fond memories. Ages 8-10: "Outdoor Discovery" cabin program designed to introduce our youngest participants to the adventure activities and outdoor skills used on our Classic Adventure. This builds up to a camp out in the National Forest Ages 10&11, 12&13, & 14-17: "Classic Adventure" for one or two weeks. This is a true expedition program: we provide all the gear and groups of up to 12 kids will travel throughout the National Forests changing campsites each night and participating in activities everyday. Specialty Programs are also available for ages 14-17, check out our website to learn about those. Activities include: backpacking, canoeing, rock climbing, high ropes, zip lining, camping, caving, white water kayaking, outdoor living skills, and much more! No experience Necessary, everything is taught from a basic level, equipment provided, just bring a positive attitude!

Randolph-Macon Academy's Summer Camp is for rising sixth through eighth grade students. It provides a setting in which campers spend weekday mornings in enrichment sessions and enjoy fun activities the rest of the day and on weekends. This allows campers to explore an interest or strengthen their skills in a particular subject. There are three morning sessions. Campers can choose from The Journeying Journalist (reading and writing), Legends & Lore of Virginia (history), and The Experimental Explorer (science), which all focus

around this year's theme of Colonial America. Other morning options include Digital Media, Study Skills, Music Technology, Basic Math, and Pre-Algebra. Afternoons, evenings, and weekends provide a multitude of activities: basketball, dodgeball, bowling, movies, field trips, canoeing, amusement

park trips, soccer, swimming, arts and crafts, community service activities, and more. This program provides both day and overnight options, and campers may opt for a two-week stay or participate in all four weeks. This year's camp runs from

July 3-15 and/or July 17-29. A trip to Williamsburg, VA, is planned for one of the weekends. The goal of this camp is to help keep the middle school mind active, and so we offer a rare combination of academics and fun. The "classes" in the morning are active, engaging, and low-stress. These are non-credit classes that very often help students re-discover a love of learning.

St. Michael's has been running awesome camps in

the Haymarket/Gainesville for a decade. Every

camp is infused with Christian principles based on a

biblical foundation. We staff our camps almost

entirely with our own school-year faculty, so St.

Michael's students are welcomed by familiar faces.

However, we open our doors to children from all

over the area. And, due to our interdenominational

flavor, families from any church background will

be made to feel welcome and comfortable.

One thing that sets us apart is our extended day for

working families. We offer before care from 7:00

am - 9:00 a.m., aftercare from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00

p.m., and extended care from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Our preschool summer camps run from 9:00 a.m. -

12:00 p.m. and are fun, interactive, "themed" camps

that run a week at a time. Spa camp and Superhero

camp are especially popular! Our elementary camps

run from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and are separated out

by age groups. There will be a special focus this

year on STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering,

and Math in several of our elementary camps.

Camps are held at our Sparks campus, the former

P.A.C.E. West public school. Our campers enjoy

three different playgrounds, a well-equipped

computer lab, large, bright classrooms, a lunch

room, and an exercise room. Big, athletic fields are

perfect for our sports and fitness camps.
